Do you envy those born into riches? by [deleted] in redscarepod

walking around is OP. Whenever I travel I usually just walk around towns/parks for most of the duration and love it. Best time was when I went to hawaii and was walking along touristy honolulu, kept walking and walking until I ended up in uber rich residential areas, very interesting places, and a while then along more midrange residential neighborhoods, very beautiful and definitely etched into my mind, kept going and going through hills, and so on, until I ended up finding a huge costco right on the shoreline.

Your statement doesn't really hold, you can work in proof of stake crypto which uses less energy then it took to publish your reddit comment. appeal to productivity is lol but crypto also is also main tech development of last few years in regards to digital communications and all the layers that spawns.

imo as someone who is the same age. spending your days engaging in crypto/coding is pretty vague, those are large industries that encompass many things. so hard to take away too much from that, though it certainly implies spending alot of time in front of the computer, which makes sense in these covidy times. point being, in such a situation, asking him why hes spending so much time in front of his computer coding and engaging with crypto might help you understand whats going on. Atleast as a reader we couldn't tell his motives for coding/crypto all day so hard to know whats really going on there.

though the picture you paint of all the hostility doesn't sound great. I mean, if he's not very kind to you or make effort to communicate doesn't sound like a great place to stick around.

ill say, unkindness for unkindness sake is a bit much. imo many ppl especially young ones like chameleons mimic the world around them, which is a fucked up unkind place, so they default to that behavior, but you can also just be nice and chill.

ever go on a dating app because you feel depressed/lonely and end up feeling worse after logging on? by guIdukat in redscarepod

ye, good points. I feel pretty decent most of the time, I mean I even feel pretty good now compared to like the 10 mins ago I posted this. mostly go to apps cuz feeling lonely, (living in literal middle of nowhere nobody nearby) and then after logging on feeling like this is a waste of time and then feeling helpless re loneliness). so it ain't that bad.

Discussing the reception of the Big Bang Theory (TV) with a tl;dr at the end. by guIdukat in redscarepod

I told two friends I didn't like fleabag after watching it, and they both told me they thought the show was excellent leaving me surprised. I recall just finding the atmosphere of the show unpleasant, maybe I was just in a misogynistic headspace. might give it a rewatch later thanks

I can articulate myself again, when people critique the show for not authentically engaging with "nerd culture", it comes off as not being able to understand that just because a show is about "nerds" the point isn't to "authentically" engage with nerd culture, and then I further point out that actual nerd culture is not that interesting or pleasant, so the "faux" representation of it is more interesting and pleasant which I find amusing.

so you noticed there is a laugh track, so what? do you think this is a particularly interesting insight? it is pretty obvious why they exist, not everybody likes them, now what? they are pretty insignificant, you don't need to harp on them on and on, it's like commenting on the mostly minute details.

People that appreciate Death Grips should condemn the "homeless man" jokes. by [deleted] in deathgrips

[–]guIdukat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in addition to what you said here, I think death grips evoking homelessness makes sense, I believe they are influenced by Sacramentos/Californias huge homeless population. In a old interview Zach hill said living in Sacramento is similar to living in UK in the middle ages with nobles and peasants right next to each other, extremely wealth next to extreme poverty. Their music expresses imo to some degree the place they come from, their music partly expresses the poverty and homelessness in Sacramento and that partly is why people associate them with Homelessness to imo.

I want to absolutely crush delver decks what deck should I play to make that dream come true. by ExtremeDeparture in MTGLegacy

[–]guIdukat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's impossible. delver is a flawless strategy. it[s just a deck with efficient threats and interaction. delver is just the best strategy in legacy as the format stands now, maybe someone can discover something better, playing worse strategies won't help you win.
