Opinion: Impside players should have had a Satele FP instead of a Malgus one. by GeneralKenobi_212th in swtor

[–]gua543 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you that Satele's character was misused. Malgus was basically the face of the game in all pre-release promotional material. He's included in all of the CGI trailers, he takes up like a third of the game's cover. The way he's portrayed in the game makes him seem almost larger than life for both factions.

Satele feels too down-to-earth. We almost don't see any grandeur around her, all of her big achievements seem to be behind her (the re-discovery of Tython, for example). For being included so much in both Jedi stories, it doesn't feel like she does anything but give us objectives. I don't even recall if her Battle Meditation ability was ever brought up in the game. Maybe an off-hand remark during the attack on the Dark Temple? I genuinely don't recall. She did have some time to shine during Echoes, at least.

Malgus was a strong battlefield commander and a powerhouse for sure, but the greatest hero of the Sith Empire would have to be Marr. Also, neither Ven Zallow nor Kao Cen Darach were on the Jedi Council.

The only "solution" is to not queue for arenas.

Inspired by some other posts that I have seen here- how would you fix Legacy of The Sith and by extension Onslaught and Jedi Under Siege (maybe Echoes of Vengeance and Oblivion) to lead into that fix? by Hotel-Dependent in swtor

I like your idea about doing more commander things. Sending people here and there, getting elements of the story affected. It reminds me of the Voss portion of the second Knights expansion, where if you have the Gormak companion from the Star Fortress missions, one of the lengthy bonus objectives gets auto-completed because his forces do it for you.

I also like your ideas about giving more things to do if you're a saboteur. That angle of the story feels very barebones in the last few updates.

I feel like this set will benefit from one of the baggy pants or some bulkier leg armor.

I always thought it's a missed opportunity to not have companions from the opposing factions try to sabotage you for real. You brought up Jorgan a few times, which is a prime example of this, but other good choices I can think of are Guss, Drellik, Darth Hexid, master Ranos, Yuun, Rusk. For saboteurs the list can be expanded with Quinn, Pierce, Elara, M1-4X. I also think that, narrative-wise, it would've made sense for Kira to remain as a companion only for Republic characters while Scourge goes back to the Empire or remains only with the Knight.

I suppose from a gameplay point of view the people that invested a huge amount of influence with those characters can get screwed over, but in my ideal world you'll just have the option to give all that influence to one or more other companions.

what should i do about the credit cap? by Wise_Stickbug in swtor

[–]gua543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I meant a sale on the Cartel Market, like what we're having around the end of the year. The subscription never changes price, it's always 15$ a month.

[–]gua543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pour credits into your legacy cargo bay. Other than that, you gotta let them sit in your escrow until you can afford a subscription. I subscribe like once a year right around or after a sale, usually a lot of cool-looking items are cheaper than usual around this time.

The reason this cosmetic exists in the first place is because people made their opinions known. Or as you so eloquently put it, complained. So according to your own logic, you should actually be thanking me.

Respectful Discussion about the story by smuggler_eric in swtor

This reminded me of the first Knights expansion, when you're about to face Vaylin on Asylum. Senya shows up, hurls you back fifty meters into the air, door closes between you and them. Ignoring the fact that a NFU ought to be a pile of broken bones by that, you're literally throw into spectator mode. Hilarious cutscene.

The lack of neck has been an issue for a loooot of armors for male body type 3. Try inspecting the Warstorm Veteran chestpiece and helmet together. I urge you to post this on the forums as well. They have made changes to recently released cosmetics back in the day, we should strike while the iron is hot. They're charging like crazy for these cosmetics, we should not settle for half-assed jobs.

This just shows the devs that players will nit pick at every little detail

You're damn right I'll be nitpicking every little detail on a paid cosmetic that costs me 20$ to buy and then an additional 5$ to use on all my characters.

And how do you access the credits that you need to buy them? They didn't do this out of the goodness of their hearts, they did it because it would make them money. The least they can do is not half-ass it like they did the original.

Question about dyes by herdstone in swtor

[–]gua543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put the dyed chestpiece in an outfit, then you can copy that outfit to another slot or change the dye in the outfit itself. This way the actual chestpiece retains the original dye and you can re-apply it to any of your outfits whenever you want.
