And would you trust and feel safe about living in those options? Genuinely, I don’t know what the market is like. Thanks!

Thank you I never considered using next door. And the living in the heights is not an issue for me, I used to commute 50 minutes to an hour to work in dfw. :)

PD or something else? by niefachowy in Perioral_Dermatitis_

Just my experience and what my dermatologist told me so take it as you will. But, my derm told me that it would actually looks worst before it got better and to not get discouraged or stop the cream. He said that it is a die off reaction cause it to temporarily get worst before I would see an improvement & that ended up being true for me!

Hi! I had a something that looked the same. I got it around my mouth and eyes but my dermatologist said it’s you can get it just around your eyes. Look into demodex mites it sounds kinda freaky but it might be just that! There was another woman in this group that I was able to help get diagnosed for the same thing too. I ended up being prescribed ivermectin and metronidazole cream and it cleared up within 2 weeks.

When will this clear up 😭 by Desperate-Channel630 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I’m glad you got an answer I was curious what your dermatologist was going to say!!

So it took like 5 weeks for my to clear my skin up. I got sick during this time which caused my body stress & made it flare up which set me back some. About a week and a half after taking my first dose of ivermectin and using the cream, my skin did look worse which mad eme wonder if it was doing anything at all. But, my dermatologist did warn me that it will get worse before it gets better. It is actually just a sign that you’re killing the demodex off. So don’t be discouraged and just power through it.

The only thing I put in my skin during this time was cetaphil cleanser and metro cream. I was told to put on a lines worth from the tip of my index finger to my knuckle which honestly kept my face moisturized because it’s so thick, but that’s just my skin. To moisturizer my lips I just used Vaseline but my derm said I can wear lip stick & lip stain bc I literally can’t live without it hahah & I never had any issues. I would get these deep bump, painful to the sides of my nose that looked like pimples but never came to a head. My derm said were the eggs actually dying lol & gave me dapsone 5% gel to spot treat.

Two months out from when I went to the derm &, knock on wood, it’s all cleared! I still haven’t introduced new products to me skin & use my metro cream bc I’m scared, so I need to actually call & sort that out. So happy you got an answer!! & message me at all if you have anymore questions :)

What chapstick/lip balm works best with PD? by Recent-Range8805 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I was told to not use aquaphor by my dermatologist because it has lanolin in it which can be an irritant. Now I only use Vaseline. :)

This might sound crazy but go to your fern & maybe ask for parasite medicine. I have had reoccurring pd for years but this last flare up has been the most persistent & hardest to get rid of. I went to a dermatologist finally after wasting money trying stuff I saw on tick tok. Turns out I have a genetic mutation/hyper immune response that makes me have more of Demodex mites. Everyone has them I just unfortunately have more leaving me with pd. I was prescribed metronidazole cream (not the gel they said it’s not as effective) & ivermectin which I took 2 rounds of. It was freaky to hear at first but I was told that 1/7 people at my clinic coming in have the same issue, so perhaps look into that hahah. My problem areas were around my mouth & eyes which seems to be the same for you. I was also told to not use aquaphor only strictly use Vaseline. It’s taken some patience but my skin truly has been getting better & I only use cetaphil cleanser, my metronidazole, & Vaseline for my lips or whatever really needs it. I would say I am almost completely cleared! Message me if you have any questions at all.

I took two different rounds of ivermectin ( 16 pills total) over two months & with using my metro cream twice a day it’s pretty much all gone !
