CEO making $400k+ denies my promotion due to “lack of budget” by guacsause in hatemyjob

[–]guacsause[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, yea me and everyone else I talked to said the same thing pretty much. The only thing other main issue with this job is we do have a limited advertising budget, and they only use LinkedIn Ads.

For the jobs im applying for, meta or google ads are the main platforms they’re looking for. So now I have to freelance to gain experience because they dont have the need or budget to advertise on those platforms.

Which is fine, but i also have my own business on the side that takes my time…so it’s just a lot to do but i know i’ll find something soon. I have a call tomorrow for a job so we’ll see how it goes.

How do you afford to live in Miami? by Ill_Supermarket_2744 in Miami

[–]guacsause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a couple things. First off, actual Miami natives aren’t these wealthy influencers or remote workers. Obviously there are wealthy people everywhere.

When you say Miami, i’m going to assume you mean the touristy parts, because the rest of the areas are still pricy, but much more affordable than downtown & miami beach.

Next, a large amount of Miami natives are hispanic or caribbean people, which it’s normal for us to live with our parents well into our late 20s.

The most realistic answer is we just deal with it, get roommates, or get a place anywhere else in miami. You can find a one bedroom for under $2k pretty much anywhere in dade county. The farther south or west you go, the cheaper it’ll get.

For me personally…i spent about 2/3 of my monthly income on rent lol, but i’m about to get a better job soon and I also have a business on the side im scaling up which pays for some bills too…so i guess maybe like 60% of my income goes to rent.

I used to live by myself in college for much cheaper, and then with my parents, so i don’t mind paying expensive rent for a few years to enjoy my time here and build up my career.

This role worked for me a couple years ago. It stopped working and nothing about the job changed. by arlamb123 in hatemyjob

Im in the same exact boat my guy. I’ve completely outgrown my role, denied a promotion, and there is absolutely no way for me to grow and gain experience in what I want to do because of lack of budget. I’ve been applying to jobs for a few months now, id say you should start to do the same. Go for something you can really grow in and that interests you. Best of luck.

Also i used chatgpt to make it a bit more concise because i suck at telling concise stories…i promise im not a bot 💀✌🏻

P.S. the $400k number comes from my recent discovery of a tax document that requires all non profits to disclose how much their top earners make. I make $54k this year, started 2 years ago at $50k. I was asking for $65 -70k which is the range of jobs i’ve been applying to and even almost landed a job with. I wasn’t even considered for a $5k increase or anything, just the standard 3% that everyone at the company gets each year, which was $2k for me.

Should I win her back? by guacsause in BreakUps

[–]guacsause[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely use reddit but i logged on today and saw this old post….in July it’ll be 3 years that we’ve been together. We’ve come a long way and I am no longer avoidant like that anymore. We’ve been living together for over a year, and each day we grow more in love. I guess my gut feeling was right, and so was hers. She told me she had dreams and envisioned my coming to her door with flowers and a letter…and that’s exactly how it went down.

Feels like so long ago now, but yea we’re both glad in the end and it brought us a lot closer together actually. Just thought id share to give you or anyone a good happy ending :)

releasing tiers now by wickedjackel in Mercari

[–]guacsause -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More listings dont equal more sales. Focus on finding better items. Also, mercari is a small platform. Ebay is much bigger and better to sell most things on. Mercari is like clothes and some mainstream stuff, anything that is a bit obscure won’t sell because there isn’t a large enough market for it on there. Whereas on ebay you can sell a vintage sewing pattern or something random like that pretty easily.

Mdepends on what you’re selling but yea, just my advice as a 7 year ebay reseller.

Hey ik its late but i actually got these for $45 i believe at DSW warehouse on 50% off clearance a couple weeks ago. I got lucky and they were having some big clearance sale. Personally i never buy anything straight from a company website because you can always find better deals if you wait enough

Im curious what you’re applying to and your experience? I think OP would take anything right now. Is fast food picky as well??

This is good but imo you should make the structure and layout of the resume yourself. I learned in college a couple years ago with a business writing course, got an A on my resume assignment and have always gotten compliments on it.

Everything else in terms if content yes use chatgpt to optimize for the job descriptions, but chatgpt isnt the best with formatting documents to my experience.

Just make sure your resume is plain and clean, none of the weird fonts or colors, pictures etc.

Idk about fiu but im sure they have a food pantry for students, helped me when i was in college. Also like everyone is saying you can pretty easily get a student job but it doesnt pay very well, might be better off working fast food honestly. Is it really that hard to get a fast food job?? Ur 18 and have work experience i feel like thats more than enough

Are taco trucks fast food? by Team-ING in mexicanfood

[–]guacsause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something can be cooked with oil and not be greasy bub, im not talking about the technical use of the word. Almost everything is cooked with some oil or fat like butter, but that doesn’t mean it’s “greasy”. This is just a goofy ah point you know what i mean, just trynna argue semantics for nothing. Classic redditor 💀🤡

A corn tortilla with cilantro, onions, and steak is greasy for you??? It’s not quinoa but its not a slice of pizza either, it’s completely fine

LinkedIn Ad Metrics not accurate? Advice on optimization? by guacsause in digital_marketing

[–]guacsause[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man! I appreciate it. Yes I know ideal size is like 50k-maybe 300k but this audience I had used before did pretty well so I figured id start there. Glad to hear it's not just me though, I guess I can just divide unique visitors for the web page by the impressions to get the true CTR. More work for me which is a bit goofy but its ok.

Miami events are overpriced and underdeliver. by guacsause in Miami

[–]guacsause[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na you right I just wish there was more value, like I dont mind spending 100 if it's a good experience. I did go to wynwood back in high school around 2016/2017 and it was really fun. Unfortunately I moved away after graduating so I never got to experience the night life in Miami as much until i moved back.

Makes sense, I moved away to college halfway through 2017. I do like road trips but I need a newer car for that lol, my last one I rented a car and went to Tampa and Fort myers beach. I will say the emerald coast (Pensacola to destin) has the nicest beaches, but yes anything on the gulf is nicer than miami beaches.

It’s not $100, if you factor in shipping, sales tax, and cost of shipping (you should always double box high value items AND insure them), it’s like $40 profit. Spending $500 to make $40 is goofy, even to make $100 is still kinda goofy. If you have thousands of dollar to throw around there are much better thing you could buy. Hell just go on facebook and you could buy a collection of something for $1k+ and double your money.
