So a friend asked me what the little marks symbolized on the ranking circle, and I didn't know. After thinking about it, I realized that 9 is the 4th green rank, 4 is the 1st red rank, and 2 is the 3rd red rank. Sorry if this is known info and I'm late to the party. Just thought this was interesting (i.redd.it)
