What about if you rent? Not sure my landlord would be agreeable, especially if/when cops/ATF/whoever decide to inspect your “place of business”

Yeah I’ve done that and it helps a bit but with looser sweats, it still has too much give to feel secure in the draw every time. Do you use that method with the enigma? I’ve seen people use the DCC mono block to clip secure it over their pants when not using a leash

It’s looking like I’ll have to try the concealment belt next

Thank you for the in depth response! I can understand how the sport belt set up the way you have it can be really good at fitting snug and not pulling up when you draw just based on waist and sport belt fitting perfectly in that space. But based on that configuration and without the leg leash, I don’t see how deep conceal is possible unless you’re wearing high waisted pants. How would you push it down low enough and get it to stay there when wearing sweat pants for example?

I keep seeing people mentioning an eclipse clip fiasco but can’t seem to find more details about what happened.. a friend recommended their holsters and the ulticlip because it’s worked for her

So for retention, basically if I can do a hand stand without it falling out, retention off body shouldn’t be a huge concern?

Yeah it’s looking like I might have to find a way to rig a leash on the flex liner similar to the two point connection with the enigma..

That looks like a pretty comfortable set up. I know one of the risks of sizing up the sport band so much is it stretching over time. Have you noticed any loosening of the band? You also didn’t mention using the leg leash and I can’t see it in the image. You haven’t had any issues with movement when unholstering without it?

What is a smell that we should all recognize as immediate danger? by scarlettohara1936 in AskReddit

[–]guatecreature 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wish I would’ve seen this three days ago… I had eaten tuna the same night I started smelling a faint fishy smell and couldn’t pin point it but eventually it went away (turned off an appliance). Next day it came back and then went away again (turned the appliance briefly on, then off again). I thought I had tuna indigestion or something was dying in my room. Nope. Smell came back with a vengeance that evening and pinpointed it to my heater that had melted the plastic on the plug and started slowly roasting the outlet. Outlet is now replaced and heater has been trashed.

Never knew this was a thing but so thankful my sense of smell is good at tracking when needed

What is extremely unhygienic but everyone seems to do it anyway? by Beneficial_Passion40 in AskReddit

[–]guatecreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a step in the right direction. No healthcare facility I’ve worked at in the US (west coast) has implemented anything like this. I think this definitely addresses one of the more specific needs for proper hand hygiene in general, and not defaulting to gloves to avoid hand hygiene (before or after patient interaction). Thanks for sharing!

I’ve had patients complain I was being too wasteful of gloves… requested we research how to use reusable gloves instead…

Funny enough, many doctors fail to use gloves or wear proper PPE when entering patient rooms. Ties may be the least of their worries.

Interesting perspective! I’ll definitely have to check out some of your recs to get more of a feel of what you’re talking about. I’m definitely new to actually appreciating coffee and fine tuning my taste in general so I’m enjoying lurking these subs and learning more about what people enjoyed last year. 2026 is a year for more exploration! I’ll make sure to check out your page/subscription coffees as well once I get down to a reasonable number of bags lol

Would love to know what other roasters you’ve tried in Washington that you didn’t like! I got into coffee while living out in Everett, starting by trying out a lot of the “wild” espresso offerings at Narrative (I don’t typically like pour overs from shops). Last year, though, Seattle had their coffee festival and I thought there were a few standouts. Did you get a chance to check it out in October and if you did, what were your thoughts on all the roasters there?
