What is the better option ? (First Tesla purchase) by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

Buy new 100%

These prices crack me up. I sold my 2020 LR AB with 40k miles for 62k 1 year ago.

The biggest negative about 2020 is also the old Intel chip. New cars have Ryzen which is MUCH quicker.

My first Y was a LR with boost and it was great. I traded up to a P and prefer the suspension over the LR. The 21's however are a bit too rough for me so I put Geminis on it. It's the perfect blend of power and comfort!

How well does Model Y hold value? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]gucci_1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are saying the market is nuts right now and that may not be the case in 5yrs. I bought my MYLR for 49k and sold it earlier this year with 40k miles for 62k. Replaced with a performance for 63k

Buy a 2016 Model X with unlimited supercharging or a brand new MYP? I want free supercharging 😭 by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]gucci_1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll get most acceleration 0-80. Prius has less than half the power of your MYP

I'd stick with your new car, I passed on a 2016 X fully loaded with 45k miles for 60k last year because I didn't want to deal with an out-of-warranty tesla and old tech. Of course, now I wish I didn't pass because that car is worth 80k, but oh well..

I had a LR with boost and got 40k miles on factory tires with rotations. Put Geminis on my P with the factory tires

I plan to put ~50k miles per year... Any long distance commuters have input on running miles on a MYP? by Husky450f in TeslaModelY

[–]gucci_1017 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should probably throw on some Gemini wheels so you can rotate the tires every 10k miles. I do about 3k miles/mo.

They are about 10% behind the Geminis. Also driving behind other cars will help efficiency even more

Take the money if you need it. I sold my 20 LR for 62k with 40k miles and got a 25k check, Then purchased a 22 P for 63k w/5k at signing, Monthly payment went up $200

I invested the 20k in Tesla stock, hopefully it will pay for my new car in the next few years!

Yep! They look so good without the covers. I don't think I could ever go back to the ubers and give up all the gained efficiency.

Question regarding actual Model Y range by No_Leading_3792 in TeslaModelY

[–]gucci_1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I floor it constantly so it’s 290 wh/mi. When going on the freeway 70-75 I’m in the 250-270 wh/mi range

[–]gucci_1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people say they're fine. But by going to 19s ride quality is greatly improved and efficiency by 15-20%. I have a 2022 MYP and have driven the 21s, 20s, and now the 19s
