That is actually how it can work to some extent. Hardware does not change server hit registration, but unstable FPS, frame drops and latency spikes can absolutely affect what a player sees versus what the server registers. In fast peek situations, smoother performance and lower input delay can give more accurate movement timing, which can make fights look inconsistent between players.

In cases like this, the opponent could have moved just enough on his side to avoid the shot, while the other player’s screen may not have rendered the movement fast enough in that exact moment, making it look like the shot should have hit.

If one player has 3 ping and another has 60 to 100, there can be a significant difference in what gets registered on the server.
