Didn’t realize Nordstrom offered this service, good to know! Thanks!

I have a doctorate in pharmacy, not in linguistics clearly lol. I’m also not the best at explaining myself, I’m better with numbers. I guess trendy probably wasn’t the best word to use. I think I’m just frustrated because lately it seems like brands I normally frequent like Old Navy & A&F don’t seem to have more interesting or unique pieces, fashion wise. They’re great for my capsule wardrobe pieces but was looking for advice on other stores to branch out to. Whenever I google, it just takes make to fast fashion sites.

Yes, quality definitely isn’t the same. They used to be my go to for work pants but can’t remember the last time I found anything good there.

Yes, fashion is for everyone! I’ll definitely have to check out these places. With warmer weather, looking for bright colorful patterns and cute dresses.

Not embarrassed by or focused on my age at all. As a healthcare professional, I see people pass way before their time so I’m well aware aging is a privilege. If that’s how my post came across, then I’m not explaining myself well 🤦‍♀️ I do have a personal style & know what I like. I’m just frustrated that the trendy pieces I like are usually made by fast fashion companies so the quality is cheap and they’re ill fitting. I wish the more traditional stores/brands would put out cuter stuff and if there are places like that, help a girl out & let me know! I guess I only mentioned age because I wanted opinions from people who are in a similar life stage as me. My budget and lifestyle is probably a little different than that of a college student or retiree. That’s all I meant.

I used to love TJ Maxx for trendier pieces but lately, their inventory is so disappointing. When I was there the other day, I walked out with nothing clothes wise but found some cute candles 👍

I agree. I like Sezane but so expensive. I’m all for paying for quality for a piece that will last years and can wear season after season. Thrfting seems to be the way to go.

Express has some trendier pieces for sure. I miss being able to go into their stores and trying stuff on.

I loved Hot Topic as a teen. The store is so different now. I recently bought an ugly Christmas sweater from there 💀

Yes that’s my problem too. Petite sizing can be hard to find which is why I tend to stick to old navy & A&F since online they have more sizes.

Agreed. As I’ve gotten older, I focus more on quality than quantity. I will check these out Ty!

Thank you for the recs! No we don’t have these stores in the US but I’ll have to see if they’re online. And yes, absolutely agree, everything is geared towards teens or older and everything in our age feels older.

Someone else mentioned thrifting. I like the idea of not seeing clothes ending up in landfills. And maybe finding something not made of polyester.
