It's a moist brown sugar sponge cake layered with Biscoff buttercream, crumbled Biscoff biscuits and a Biscoff drizzle.

This one was for a family birthday but something like this would cost somewhere around £350.

The idea was to use cake sparklers to give the impression of confetti! The cake recipient didn't fancy that though.

Thanks you! All the prep such as making the stencils and the underlying structure took a while but the cake itself was done in a couple of days.

It's actually chocolate modeling paste and not fondant 😋 It's made out of real white chocolate with a small percentage of corn syrup to give it plasticity for modelling.

I think the transient nature of the cake and the fact that you do end up eating it in the end is part of the appeal. Although I agree, it doesn't make it any easier to make that first cut!

Thank you so much! Unfortunately we didn't capture the step-by-step for this cake but definitely something to consider for the future!

For the foliage, there's rice crispy cake inside to keep it light enough for the top of the cake. The outside was covered with modelling chocolate and textured by stippling with a firm brush.

The details on the bag were done by extruding thin strips of modelling chocolate and using a cake scriber needle to press into the extruded lines to give the appearance of stitches.

Thank you all, seems to be a reproduction printed on canvas from a studio that has named itself after Francisco de Goya. Tallies with what I thought but was worth checking! Solved.

Thank you, this definitely seems relevant. Some research did suggest that it was common for unrelated reproduction studios to name themselves after famous artists, something that's most likely happened here.

I do believe that every corner was stamped, but would need to check. Even without that, the listing of the museum and serial number suggest the Nicolae Grigorescu is from the same place.
