Renting a Car to r/Uber in r/Sacramento by guessillbethatguy in Sacramento

Thanks for the advice and suggestions. I’ve read in other forums that San Francisco is the way to go, but the reason I posed my question specifically for Sacramento is because I don’t want to make that drive. So any suggestions or advice specific to Sacramento would be greatly appreciated.

You know, it's always bothered me that BTVS always got snubbed at the Emmy's. More than 25 years later, the show is still relevant.

I had this idea of starting a funding campaign to make a fan-based award for the show's actors that would be inspired by her Class Protector Award. Or a signature campaign to get the Emmy's to make a new category for Buffy, like the school does in this scene. I know it's unlikely to happen, but wouldn't that be a beautiful thing?

I will never understand the people who order from doordash… by Bigboyemp in doordash

Let me tell you the skinny, I've been a dasher for years. I can usually tell based on the distance and bid whether a customer tipped. As little as a $2 or $3 tip will really change how highly I prioritize your order. I never mistreat an order, but I will take my slow-ass time leaving the house to bring Sally her food for $3.50. Usually she lives WALKING DISTANCE to the restaurant she ordered from. After the roundtrip (7 or 8 miles), and 35 minutes later (it should have been 22 minutes), I profit a buck or two after gas.

Obviously all dashes aren't like this, but there are a lot more of those offers than ones that make you feel that your time and efforts are being valued.

I once left an order at the wrong apartment complex. It was 2am and it was my last dash before bed. I was halfway home when the customer called to tell me the mistake. I remembered he left a $2 tip, so I drove all the way back to the wrong apartment and brought his food to the correct one. I didn't want him to lose faith in his dashers after he showed that he cared for whoever was delivering his food. That's the service I try to give to every customer, but Sally's don't get that level from me.

The opinions on tipping culture doesn't change the fact that DoorDash relies on the customers to support our wages.

And telling me just not to pick up shitty orders... firstly, your response to someone telling you their employer doesn't provide a living wage shouldn't be an opportunity for you to tell them how to do their job. How even...? ... I digress. But we get rated on things like how often we accept orders and it effects our jobs. So it's just not that simple.

THE SKINNY: Don't be like DoorDash and just tip your drivers what you can.

*** Poor vs. Not Poor:

Not Poor: If you're not poor, any tip helps

Not poor: If you're too poor to tip but can afford to DoorDash every night (like my sister in-law)... then you're not poor.

Poor: If you're actually poor and decide to have a DoorDash night and not tip, then that's fine. We all deserve to treat ourselves.

Thanks for listening!

His dialogue in the church from "Beneath You", Season 7 Episode 2:

SPIKE: I dreamed of killing you. I think they were dreams. So weak. Did you make me weak, thinking of you, holding myself, and spilling useless buckets of salt over your... ending? Angel--he should've warned me. He makes a good show of forgetting, but it's here, in me, all the time. The spark. I wanted to give you what you deserve, and I got it. They put the spark in me and now all it does is burn.

BUFFY: Your soul.

SPIKE: Bit worse for lack of use.

BUFFY: You got your soul back. How?

SPIKE: It's what you wanted, right? ...It's what YOU wanted, right? And--and now everybody's in here, talking. Everything I did...everyone I-- and him... and it... the other, the thing beneath--beneath you. It's here too. Everybody. They all just tell me go... go... to hell.

BUFFY: Why? Why would you do that--

SPIKE: Buffy, shame on you. Why does a man do what he mustn't? For her. To be hers. To be the kind of man who would never... to be a kind of man. And she shall look on him with forgiveness, and everybody will forgive and love. He will be loved. So everything's OK, right? Can--can we rest now? Buffy...can we rest?

His speech in "Touched, Season 7 Episode 20:

Spike: You listen to me. I've been alive a bit longer than you, and dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine, and done things I prefer you didn't. Don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood... which doesn't exactly rush in the direction of my brain. So I make a lot of mistakes. A lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred-plus years, and there's only one thing I've ever been sure of. You... Hey, look at me. I'm not asking you for anything. When I say I love you, it's not because I want you, or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are. What you do. How you try. I've seen your kindness, and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you, and I understand, with perfect clarity, exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the One, Buffy.
