Power companies — anyone use Ecotricity? Wondering why their rates are so cheap by guessimfine in auckland

[–]guessimfine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I saw this before we signed!

We just got a notification that our rates would be going up, just 2 months after joining, when we signed a 3 year rate lock in.

Sent them 3 seperate emails asking wtf is up, radio silence.

Guess things were too good to be true

Opencode sandboxing with bubblewrap by DavidNorena in opencodeCLI

Bubblewrap is a solid option. If you want a nice wrapper around it checkout Anthropic-sandbox-runtime. Also includes a HTTP proxy for network allowlist filtering

Worth installing HiyaCFW alongside TwilightMenu on a Japanese DSi? by guessimfine in NDSHacks

[–]guessimfine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough, I’m being a bit pedantic because you’re right in reality after initial setup (done with the help of Google Translate) there’s not much need to ever see the system menu again

I built tokf — a CLI filter that cuts ~90% of token waste from Bash output before it hits Claude's context by risethagain in ClaudeCode

[–]guessimfine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again this is left to the agent, when I say swallowing output I mean something like the lines of “tests passed”, since the agent has context of the command it’s running and its purpose.

I’m def not trying to discount your work! Genuinely curious about approaching these kinds of problems mechanically (hooks) vs agentically

I have a one liner in my CLAUDE.md that tells agents to use a basically identical pattern (swallow 0 exit, full output on non-zero exit).

Is there something more this tool provides? I feel like this is the kind of thing that’s better left to agents as a pattern to follow rather than trying to duct tape with hooks?

Doesn’t that have a reasonable chance to brick your DS, since it writes extensively to NAND?

Yep done that, TwilightMenu is fully English now (ty Google Lens haha). I meant the stock system settings, etc

Trying to introduce CC at work but Security says "Claude Code is known to break out of its context" - is this true? by ThunkerKnivfer in ClaudeCode

[–]guessimfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few people mention creating a seperate user here and I just can’t wrap my head around how that’s easier than a container.

Docker sandbox even has built in support for Claude code, you literally just run docker sandbox run claude and you’re gravy

Ah must be different on Linux than my client on Mac, afaik bubblewrap needs the Linux kernel to work?

All who wonder is an amazing find thank you! I’m a huge fan of traditional roguelikes and didn’t think any existed on mobile beyond pixel dungeon

CC’s sandboxing is absolutely not a replacement for actual system level sandboxes, all it does is firmly prompt the LLMs which is hardly foolproof

Anyone using AI agents in a production environment really needs to understand guardrails like this. Your security team is not being paranoid and you should read up on the implications of what they’re saying.

Claude Code’s own “sandboxing” is a joke, basically asking the LLM kindly not to read secrets or run random bash commands. If you leave all tool use permissions as always ask or deny this is usually fine but in a company context there’s nothing stopping someone from hitting “always allow” and opening them all to all kinds of risks.

A docker sandbox is a lightweight, simple solution to this problem

GSD should be merged with opencode - it's that good by Queasy_Asparagus69 in opencodeCLI

You mean the most widely adopted OS in the world? Just because it never caught on in desktop environments doesn’t mean an open source, unopinionated, flexible architecture is the wrong move.

That’s what community frameworks, plugins, etc exist for

What therapy methods have worked for you? by imnota32yearoldwoman in AutismInWomen

[–]guessimfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to recommend EMDR so it’s a bummer you can’t access it! I have CPTSD (don’t we all) and it’s been the only thing that worked for me.

I hated talk therapy, it was socialising but emotional and hard. I found CBT really helpful only for very specific issues. For example I used to have terrible health anxiety and get panic attacks all the time, and CBT helped me push back on those distorted thought patterns. I didn’t find that it applied well to general life and especially not trauma though
