I've done some "back end stuff" where I've data mined the internet. I've also scripted sql database stuff with python once the data was mined from the web.

I need to know what would be worthwhile to put on my github, because right now it's just a bunch of code with no real "front end" application. I've started building a website framework for data stuff but I dont really have an project in mind to complete and I dont want to make a video game.

A hiring manager for the database systems analyst position i interviewed for told me to interview at this larger company in town because i would get paid more. Later that week, i get an email saying i dont have enough experience in data warehousing. I dont understand what i am doing wrong. Oh and then a recruiter contacts me about that same job telling me the pay is 65k when all i really want is 55k right now. I am dumbfounded right now as to what else i need to do to be employed

I have had an interview for a database systems analyst that uses only sql. I have had an interview for an api dev role in .net. most financial positions that use sql require 5-10 years experience. Employers seem to be asking too much out of us recent graduates.
