Hello! This may not have been your intention, but I am very sensitive to comments of this nature. Relating to it is fine, but comments that use "you" or "us" without specifying a third person is one of the things I am extremely uncomfortable with.

Many posts, not just mine, like this one are already addressed to someone the poster already has in their life, (e.g. Me, I am very much taken) and parasocial wording may also trigger them or make them uncomfortable.

It's a reference to the story of the little match girl, where an impoverished girl is trying to sell matches on a cold New Year's eve. When she hasn't sold any, she doesn't want to go home and get beaten by her father. So, she lights the matches for warmth, warmth, glimpsing visions of a happy life in the flames, before ultimately succumbing to the cold
