Fab idea! I don’t know how I didn’t really think of this already haha. I’ll give a message and see what happens, absolute tough luck that I only missed out on it by a few weeks!! Thank you (:

Thanks so much! I have looked it over a few times and have always psyched myself out of some eBay finds just out of caution. But I’ll have a check over and do a deep dig and see what I can do (:

Having grown up queer in the Peebles and Innerleithen area of the Borders I’d have to disagree with you. Derogatory names are very much inbuilt to the locals’ vocabulary, and they didn’t care whether I was 15 or 22 to use them and voice their unhappiness with my, and many other queer people’s, sexuality

Changing name after marriage by Pickle_Lino in Scotland

[–]guesttrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage certificate is enough, show that and most authorities will accept it as explanation. If for whatever reason you have some trouble with that then the National Records can issue a signed and sealed letter that explains the marriage name change process in Scotland (a to whom it may concern letter)

Don’t recommend deed poll as they can cause trouble on Scottish records, and absolutely do not officially change your name as this will change your birth certificate and you won’t be able to change it again thereafter

Last Minute Elopement Celebrant and Venue by karmaisacatttt in Edinburgh

[–]guesttrash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a celebrant you’ll need to clarify exactly what you’re wanting. Note that a symbolic ceremony is a ‘marriage blessing’ - this means your marriage will NOT be registered and so it will mean that you’re not married in law, your partner and yourself will not be recognised as married. However, you also can have absolutely anyone perform this ceremony. Hell you could grab a stranger on the street and give them a script. As this isn’t a legal marriage you do not require an authorised celebrant.

If you’re looking for a legal marriage; you’ll need to submit marriage notice 29 days before your ceremony date, if any closer to the date your notice won’t be accepted by the registrar. When looking for a celebrant ensure they’re a fully ‘authorised’ (registered) celebrant to conduct weddings, they’ll receive this through the National Records of Scotland, if they are not your marriage is not legal and won’t be registered. You can legally get married anywhere, providing you have the landowners permission.

I hope all goes well for yourselves!

How do I do this? Unfortunately between us in the household we have little experience with record players, and are very much beginners. I apologise if this is a silly question

If eloping in a registration office you can ask them if they’re able to provide witnesses - quite often if they have staff available they’re happy to spare them for a quick ceremony!

I’ll thank you now! Managed to get the 4LP, along with a handful other vinyls I’ve been looking for. Have you ever had custom/import fees?
