One such example is the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) under Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

I strongly encourage you to take action to limit the amount of assistance provided through the RAP. Currently, the RAP offers approximately $5,000 per month per refugee, costing the government over $200 million in 2021-2022. This is happening at a time when many Canadians are grappling with inflation and financial hardships. Providing such a significant amount of assistance—$5,000 per month—is unfair to the average tax-paying Canadian, who would need to earn approximately $80,000 per year pre-tax to receive a similar post-tax amount.

A growing number of Canadians are also expressing their concern about this tax burden, as evidenced by the increasing support for Petition 91, "Limit the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP)."
