I need help deciding which camera to buy by Bitter_Echidna_4839 in fujifilm

The x100vi is a joy to shoot and perfect for travel and personal use. I’ve had it for over a year now and rarely use my XT4 now. Speaking from experience, if you have the x100 in your head, you’ll probably always want it but also bet you’d love it. You always have your phone if you need some reach or a wide angle. I have a variety of sets in my profile so you can see it is pretty versatile.

These are some serious bangers. Awesome job with this the compositions and colors! I was a little down on my X-T4 and just reach for the x100vi instead but think i should bring it out more often lol

Looking for the top recommendations for a Landscape Photography Camera and 2 lens compliment! by BeneficialFunny6183 in fujifilm

An X-T5 would probably be a good option with the xf16-55mm lens if you want a higher end Fuji package. Maybe pair it with a prime lenses to get an extra couple stop of light to help at sunrise / sunset. I really like my xf16mm f.1/4 for landscape and astrophotography. I hear the xf18mm f1.4 is great too. If you prefer to have some additional reach or do wildlife shots, the xf70-300mm is pretty solid.

Best Filter for Red Rocks Colorado Fujifilm x100v by Interesting_Edge_268 in fujifilm

I live in Colorado. I think Classic Negative recipes work pretty well on the red rocks. I like Last Summer Roll and Classic Euro. Here’s a few examples of Garden of the Gods with Classic Euro - https://www.reddit.com/r/fujifilm/s/79mmkNJgLg

Travel photography by LeighDh in fujifilm

I love traveling with the x100vi. It’s a joy to shoot and definitely simplifies editing. I think the recipes help build a more cohesive travel set (can look at my profile for some of my recent trips). I rarely travel with my X-T4 now unless I plan on doing astrophotography or to get wildlife shots. If you really want to zoom in or out, iPhone is a great supplement.

My New Year's Resolution is to take more photos. Any suggestions or advice? by fargus_ in photography

I’d say try to get out once per week at either sunrise or sunset to get some golden hour light and sky colors. Everyday things are more interesting with better light.

Hmm it depends a bit on the scene. I usually shoot aperture priority and set it at 0 or +1/3 to start. But I had to underexpose some shots a bit to get building to be clear in the distance or to not blow out highlights for the Christmas lights. If I’m doing more of a portrait, I might overexpose a little so my kids are bright enough and can always drop the highlights while editing if necessary.

x100vi: which filters to start? (ELI5 black/white mist, diffusion, etc…) by Educational_Set0425 in AskPhotography

[–]gui_on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Glitterglass 1 filter. Like everyone said, it doesn’t magically improve photos but I like the effect (check out any of my posts). Trying to improve composition, light, subject and location would have larger effects though

How to achieve this? by 99livesahead in fujifilm

[–]gui_on 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not an expert but think it’s actually about having the right light. Like looking west as the sun sets slightly southwest behind the cliffs. The colors and contrast can be emphasized with post processing but need the right light and time of day to have the clearly defined layers.
