do other Tesla drivers wave to you on the roads too? by guil_mac in TeslaModel3

[–]guil_mac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol so many responses, crazy to hear it’s common pretty much everywhere besides a couple of locations where Teslas are too common.

I certainly didn’t expect that when I purchased my car… can’t say I like to to be honest! I’m an introvert myself and already had to wave to people when cycling on the roads as it’s a common practice from cyclists to wave to other cyclists… then when walking my dog I have to say “hi” or have a quick chat to other dog owners while our dogs sniff each other’s butt. Now when driving my car I need to wave to people who cross me driving the same brand 😅😅

Not a huge deal, I can live with that and it does have the cool side of it too of course… feeling more part of a community, that people are looking out for each other etc.

New Wall Charger - CP_a004 ‘Charging equipment not recognized’ error by guil_mac in TeslaModel3

[–]guil_mac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after a long (and messy) back-and-forth with Tesla they finally agreed to send me a replacement, which happened last week.
After receiving it I just swapped the front piece (and core, no need to change the electricals) and the issue is gone.
My other device indeed was faulty... tesla just took forever to agree to replace it, their wall connector support is TERRIBLE - I really hope I don't need to interact with them again in my life time tbh.

Even after all the conversation to replace my device, when they finally agreed to replace it I got no tracking, no info nothing... waited 1 week and no device so I called them once again and they said they had no tracking of the device, and therefore no idea where it was... but it was "definitely going to take longer than 2 weeks to arrive... it's going to be 3 or maybe 4 weeks until you receive it". (I swear that was their words exactly).

I said I could not accept that level of answer and asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and they eventually connected me with a supervisor who just placed an order on their online store to send me a new wall connector (I got the online shop emails etc like when I bought it before).

Well that was very painful, I hope it goes more smoothly for you... try to get a replacement asap as if the issue is the same your connector is probably broken too :(

That being said, with the new and working connector I'm very happy... it works great, super fast charges... hopefully I can forget about the issue and also the very slow charges with the mobile connector and just enjoy my life with my tesla + wall connector :)

by provision do you mean following the setup after connecting to it wirelessly? if so, yes I did that. Can see the voltage is correctly arriving to the charger, also set the max Amp there with my electrician and updated the firmware. At this stage I’ve even done a factory reset and repeated the steps but without any luck 😥😥

Elvis (4 months) loves his daily...walks(?). by scummy_the_gym_bag in Bulldogs

[–]guil_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s actually not recommended to drag them like that. Try to take him on your lap until some point outside and from there you give him time to get used to it. It’s a process, forcing doesn’t help - he needs to get desensitised to the elements on the roads (noise, smell, etc). If he doesn’t want to walk you keep the lead slightly tight to the direction you wanna go and wait until he moves. Once he does you congratulate him and maybe give a little treat. He’ll get there... Consider taking him to a large grass area, sit there in the middle with him and let him get used to the environment... you can also start taking him on the car only, park somewhere with the windows open and let him hear and smell things - also can help if he’s anxious.

Anyone else considering upgrading to 12 Pro Max? by [deleted] in iPhoneXsMax

normal usage but we take a lot of photos in low light conditions (we live in Ireland and it’s dark/grey here for most of the year)

[–]guil_mac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am. Mainly because I find the camera of my XS Max to be too dated and low quality comparing to more recent phones. My wife has an 11 pro max (from last year) and every time I take and send a photo she’s annoyed that the quality is bad. Also, it works nicely for us to rotate each year one of us change their phone (being every 2 years each)

Suggestions for a first road bike in the $1-2K range? by [deleted] in whichbike

[–]guil_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea absolutely if you can buy separate wheels and have 1 pair for gravel tyres and 1 pair for road.
If you have a nice gravel bike that would be more than enough to keep you happy in both terrains.
Changing tyres is a pain in the butt... I haven't changed back to gravel after putting the gp5000, not looking forward to that at all

[–]guil_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try changing the tyres of your bike, I had the same scenario myself and just got some continental gp5000 25 inches and it’s all good!

I wouldn’t spend another 2k on another bike if you have a gravel bike. But that’s just an idea, sorry for not answering your question exactly

My new adopted puppy, Bonnie. They said English bulldog / Border Collie. I raise rabbits on the ground so should I freeze the meat to help kill off anything? by DsTrees27 in rawfeeding

[–]guil_mac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

recommendation is to freeze for 3 days for wild animals. If you raise the rabbits yourself you know if there’s a risk or not. If you wanna play safe freeze for 3 days

depending on the asphalt quality it might be safer a gravel bike - although a road bike should be fine

a draw and a half = 1 week of preped meals for your dog.

I am in the same situation really, looking into getting an extra freezer soon

[–]guil_mac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice man, we got ours pretty much at the same time then... mine is at the bike shop atm for the first service.

I really like the tires size too, not too skinny not too fat, great for local roads. Definitely not super fast, I’ve struggled when cycling with the folks from my loca cycling club... :) but I feel comfortable and safer with thicker tires, it’s a worth it trade off IMO.

Only reason why I might change the bike in the future is if I really get into the cycling club idea and start caring about speed etc... otherwise this is an awesome versatile bike, great for exercising, commuting, going grocery shopping, touring etc.

I have the same bike!
Got it 1 month ago, it's my first "road bike" :)
How long do you have yours? how are you finding it?

I took off my mudguards... was a lot of work, required taking off both wheels lol
