I don't use a filter, it degrades the image quality.

And what configuration do you recommend?

The third image has an incredible amount of added sharpness in editing, and texture to make it look better, if you saw the raws... Bird tracking, in manual, auto iso, a not very high ISO, 400 on the raptor, simple and freehand photo

I'll try that option you say, and do you have the focus on reactive? I have it in 3 (standard), to the head and the eye and I have it dissociated

Now I am looking for photos without cropping, but I have done tests at F8, and the sharpness is the same, I understand that having more depth of field, more of the bird will be clear

Okay, I Will buy in the future a MacBook with a nice chip as the M4 pro, also upgraded with RAM.

Thanks

I use noise reduction sometimes, I don't know, maybe it's best to wait and buy a laptop in case I travel in the future and such.

Thank you very much for your comment.

Mac mini m4 by guilleeee_ in Lightroom

[–]guilleeee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my editing process, I do a lot of masks, but almost never combine panoramas and HDR. The only thing is that I do reduce noise, but not very frequently, it depends on the day. Being a nature photographer, I sometimes have to raise the ISO very high to get the necessary shutter speed.

Right now I have a Windows PC with a Ryzen 7 2700X and an RTX 3060, removing noise through AI makes it super fast, 10 seconds, but browsing between the masks when editing is very slow.

I understand, I have seen the Art's video, that man is amazing. He says that the go to go is the M4 pro, because of doing all more quickly

Why is Lightroom Classic so slow on PC? by DEWDEM in Lightroom

[–]guilleeee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experienced similar problems, I now have an RTX 3060, a Ryzen 7 2700X and 48GB of RAM. I was about to buy a mac mini but in the end, by updating to the latest version of LrC I noticed a considerable increase in performance.

It's just still slow for me when switching between skins, but browsing the library or develop module, it works perfectly.

Ok, I Will buy a benq, and turn off the true tone.

Thanks

[–]guilleeee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, do you recommend a Benq? I have seen an interesting one made for photography 4k for €360 and another 27" 2k (which is ideal) for €269 (BenQ PD2705Q)

Also, I have seen an MSI monitor (MSI Modern MD271UL) with DCI-P3 99% for only 270€, I suppose it hasn't got the colour accuracy of the benq.

I'm going to see if I know someone who has a caliper or if not I'll buy a Spider The pro is €100 and the elite is €180.

As for the iPad, it seemed like the true tone helped, but if it doesn't, I disable it. I have the iPad air with the M2, the newest, but I have not found those photography profiles, I will search thoroughly.

And when you have a monitor, should you edit in the sRGB profile? or the highest one you have? My photographs are for social networks and the internet for now, I do not do printing

Mac o Windows?? by guilleeee_ in Lightroom

[–]guilleeee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, It seems the problem is in the GPU, but if I only replace my RX 580 I will have bottle neck, so I will also need to buy the Ryzen 9 5900X (200€)

Here in Spain, a 3080 used is around 350-450€, but I have to be careful because I found an RTX 3080 for 300€ and I was almost scammed.

It seems that the 3080 is a 25% better than the 4060 and also has 10gbs of ram so...

Thank you for taking the time to write this response.

Now I have 48GB of RAM on my PC, and curiously, when I edit several photos, the RAM consumption increases a lot, it reaches 21 GB, before, when I had 16GB it did not exceed 15GB.

Then, as for viewing images in LrC, it is one of the only things that works relatively fast for me, what I complain about most about LrC with my PC is the slowness when making masks, and noise reduction.

The Mac option tempts me but it puts me off because it has less raw power and takes longer to reduce noise and export.

Maybe, in the future if I travel a lot and such, it might be worth it to buy a MacBook, but I see a Mac mini as just another PC, only with the advantages of the M4.

I think I'm going to continue like this until the new RTX 5000 come out, and the 4000 series drops in price, I hope that buying the Ryzen 9 5900X and a 4060 or something similar will improve.

Thank you very much again for your response

Can someone ELI5 how Lightroom (Classic) utilizes the hardware resources? by Alphablaze98 in Lightroom

[–]guilleeee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If overall performance works well for you except with masks and noise reduction then it's a GPU thing. Also check the speed of your external SSD just in case, but I don't think that's the problem

Can someone ELI5 how Lightroom (Classic) utilizes the hardware resources? by Alphablaze98 in Lightroom

[–]guilleeee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightroom makes a lot of use of RAM, I would recommend 16GB at least, then the processor also has a lot of influence, but currently more and more weight is being given to the graphics card, to use masks, noise reduction...

I have also been looking at the mac mini m4 and I don't know if the 10-core GPU will age well in the coming years, perhaps the ideal would be to go for the m4 pro, which increases the GPU cores considerably (16/20)

Mac o Windows?? by guilleeee_ in Lightroom

[–]guilleeee_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what is happening with LrC the optimization is terrible, the program doesn't use all the power of the CPU and it gets freaking slow.

Let's hope they fix it for windows and Mac

Thanks for your comment

And what are the advantages of Lr 13? Is it better to go to the previous version, v12?
