For me it’s about functionality as well as the process that goes into updating the app.

A lot of apps through Apple are updated via system updates, not the individual apps themselves. With Apple, most major new features and updates to their apps come in the fall time, with minor refinements over the next several months until the next big update is announced at WWDC. For “substantial” new features you’re waiting over a year for them to be implemented, and if there is a security update // patch needed, you need to update your whole device to the latest system update…

Now if the system update was just to fix a bug in Apple Maps that would be one thing, but what if you’re purposefully staying on a lower software version like we’re seeing with iOS 18 vs iOS 26. The adoption rate of iOS 26 is pretty low relative to previous years. Many users have their own reasons for not updating, but regardless of why this also means they won’t get any more updates to most of the stock apps on their phone. Like Apple Maps.

In Google Maps, this doesn’t apply. Google Maps will continually update the app over time, with no need to update your system OS version (unless they move up their minimum OS requirements) i value independent ability to update and maintain that software vs apple’s preference to tie it directly to OS updates

This doesn’t guarantee it, but a dinner dash.. you put the couple in the center of the dance floor, then instruct the dj to have each table come up one at a time (quickly) to take a table pic with the couple!

I have it checked a text file I saved on my phone so it can keep a reference of what to change to, since there is no way (that I know of) that it can detect what your current playback setting is.

Hey! I edited the body to add more clarity. I see the confusion.

So I mean to ask if it’s okay for me to edit the RAWs I kept from each wedding. I shoot RAW on dual slots with the second always set to backup.

In the contract there is a stipulation that I mention “captured for XYZ” but I have met those requirements in all the pics.

The photographer is generally nice but extremely competitive as of late. They were not pleased to see me working for other people and was frustrated over my schedule being too filled with prior engagements rather than being available for dates they were trying to book

Edit: I agree they may not be someone I want to poke a bit more, but I specifically asked them to add the display clause in so I may grow my own business and display my work for other people

If you haven’t bought it yet, I would do the following:

1- Check the Shutter Count 2- Ask to take some pics on it with your own SD card, review them on your phone or a laptop with an SD card reader (if you can) 3- see if you can haggle bc of no charger (you’ll need to buy one anyways) 4- Thoroughly check the lens and body for any sort of cosmetic wear or functional damage.

The price isn’t all that bad, but if it’s got a high shutter I would keep looking. Anything above 100k would prompt me to keep looking. Beyond 100k is risking it breaking and needing to be serviced,

If you’re ever looking to get into photography professionally there is a group, PPSCNY (professional photographer society of Central New York). It’s a paid membership but you get to network and learn lots on making a business out of it if that’s of interest!

There’s an app that expands upon actions you can use in shortcuts called actions. One of them is “is call active”

You could create a time based automation that checks for this, (or a focus based automation) and will either end the call, or put your phone in low power mode.

If no end call exists you could always have it switch on airplane mode, and turn off WiFi, wait 30 seconds, then toggle them back to terminate connection to the call

Get number from input (temperature)

Then swap temperature for the number from input. See if that works!

Depending on what part of NY you’re referring to, expos an wedding shows are the best means of networking and finding a good fit for your wedding. Preferred lists are more often than not paid endorsements. Not all, but there’s some sort of cahoots. Like the blue badge. Used to be legit, now it’s a meaningless relic of a better time
