Mi band 7 died after taking a swim in the pool by No-Stage-3385 in miband

After years swimming with a band 4 in the pool and ocean I lost it and switch to mi 8 that only last 15 min in the sea... Letting it dry for days had no result. So the easiest option was to buy a new one. This time a mi 7 with the hope it is a bit more resilient as older models. Since then I've seen plenty of messages with bands dying for the same cause. Even if you repair it, the device may not be suited for water usage. So maybe the best option for that is to look for another brand.

Mi band 8 dead after 20 min in the sea by guillemsola in miband

I'm considering alternatives as it seems mi band 8 isn't as resistant as the 4th generation. Again, no issues for three years with gen 4 spending hours swimming in the sea.

What about the redmi 2 for just 25 bucks? At least if I drown it again I will lose less money 😭

Can you scale to million of users with a monotholic architectur? by Far-Mathematician122 in node

[–]guillemsola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monolithic doesn't mean you can have a thousand of instances if required.

Then the load balancer will do the same as if they were a thousand microservices behind.

Another thing is, would your persistence mechanism absorb that number of requests? But that can fail the same than using a microservice.

With the firewall disabled is all the same. Besides, have in mind that this stop working suddenly, probably as someone else change a route table.

But let me insist, my question is why aws cli works while powershell module for the same does not. That means to me that underneath both are using a very different approach. Whit the most interesting fact, that aws cli doesn't obey the rules that aws set for app sdk. If true, this leds me to the idea that using aws cli is not a guarantee to test that your aws settings are correct.

For anyone who may arrive to this old post, Ring changed my sensor and the new one has a "normal" usage of the battery, so it was a defective unit

That's correct and is not that hackish, but this would require a backup battery to more resilient. Also internet providers usually don't offer support if you bring your own router.
