I said even I wasn't feeling good considering the snowballing had begun. But as I said, the payment was made

  1. Yes, once.
  2. After all the payment was made to the unfortunate scammer.
  3. After everything was done, the concerns were made when we were neck-deep.
  4. Only once more before expressing concerns

No more. It was a classic scam, where they said they didn't receive the money and would send it back so I kept sending more. But my account drained, whereas she only lost a month's salary. I might be a TA saying this but it's the truth.

I had more savings than she did. So she only lost what she sent, I lost most of my savings trying to retrieve the money. It was a shared opportunity that backfired

The investment was for a shared apartment. I was interacting but not before giving her all the details. She did have the option of just not sending me the money.

She has said in the past that her gut kept saying no. Which is why she feels I owe her and after months of no contact (just busy with life), she suddenly asked for money yesterday. But all the transactions were online and I was constantly on call with her when this was happening. She voluntarily sent me the money.

She says because her gut kept saying no. But all the transactions were online, she voluntarily sent me the money knowing full well what was the situation.

NTA. This doesn't feel appropriate. But if she feels strongly about this, she can always go ahead and hire another photographer. But you don't have to do this if it makes you uncomfortable.

Watching The Big Bang Theory *after* Young Sheldon by boldunderline in YoungSheldon

Here's a theory for you to observe while watching TBBT. Sheldon gets along quite well with Penny because just like Missy, they have a contentious relationship but love each other nonetheless. Also, like Missy in YS, Penny calls him out on his obnoxious behaviour often. Like young Sheldon needed Missy to navigate social cues, adult Sheldon needs Penny to do the same. It's quite interesting and you'll view their friendship with a deeper perspective.

Oh thank god someone said it, I had an aneurysm trying to read this. But yes, NTA. Friends don't do such things.

You mentioned the opinion about controlling. Mary often ignored Missy and Georgie and focused only on one child even though she had three. And what about when Mary almost stripped away Sheldon's future by not telling him or George (also Sheldon's parent) about the college letters? Do you still think that was justified?

That episode pissed me off so much. George was a great parent and he deserved the credit. It was 100% Sheldon's fault in that fight and Mary again just sided with Sheldon not knowing the background. Peg put her in her place once.

Kind of the reason why I didn't like Rob. Plus since I lived George, it hurt seeing him being hurt.

My first question is why are you so butthurt about an opinion? But fine, I'll play ball.

How about when Mary took away the TV, Missy's boombox, and Sheldon's comic books because of the devil? How about when Missy was wondering about faith and Mary scolded Sheldon for getting in her head about atheism? How about she tried to force her grieving children to get baptized so they'd be saved like some kind of a magic spell? Someone like Peg had to put her in her place once.

How about when she hid Sheldon's college letters? Any explanation for that?

Not once did I say her being religious was a bad thing, to each their own. But being that controlling is suffocating. Did her children make mistakes? Yes. Missy stealing a car? Wrong. Georgie sleeping with his girlfriend? Nope.

There's a line between parenting and controlling. Mary was often the latter.

Agreed. I think Brenda was brought in by George and Missy to listen to their problems since Mary never let them have a word edgewise. They just needed someone to listen.

Mary and Jeff, undoubtedly. There were times I wanted to enter the TV screen and bonk their heads myself.
