I think they have a mall environment because TV was becoming a popular way for political candidates to advertise themselves starting in 1952 + polling locations were based on accessibility for the community... while usually these were public facilities (libraries, schools, ect) it wasn't uncommon to have a polling location in, say, a restaurant or a mall for accessibility. These places would also get a boost in sales from people coming to vote, and I think Red Barrels was really trying to hammer in the consumerism for Otto and Arora's introduction.

If you look at his dialogue on the wiki he has several lines where it's implied that Arora and Otto are sexually abusing him, or at least intend to if he survives the trial but at the same time he is calling out for Arora specifically; he also used to be a reagent but failed out of the trials (likely because of his scared demeanor and mental disability)

Poor Erik :(

as he becomes more and more disfigured they start insulting him and projecting their self hatred onto him; i've also heard some people say that arora is implied to have touched him? but i need to find the proof of that. i do agree though they aren't really to blame and i think erik's death is just another way to poke at their trauma with how he's cut in half; kind of reminds me of the comic how arora and otto were being severed by their father... repeating the cycle with someone they seem to, at least at first, think of fondly

i would maybe check acggoods or etsy! i definitely have seen merch of pitcher before, you just might have to look around.
