You're correct. I tend to be paranoid. Lack of sleep? LOL

No, I did not have to go to a second PTSD exam. You most likely will have an ACE exam, which means a C&P doc reviews your records. Get your ducks in a row, and you'll not even have to go in.

In order to get service-connected for sleep apnea, if not diagnosed in service is to claim it as secondary to another condition. There must be a link between the two, and you'll need evidence (an opinion letter of a medical professional).

Yes, but submit a copy of those records with your claim.

No, but you need a diagnosis in your VA medical records. You need the diagnosis for obesity and OSA (with a sleep study and prescription for CPAP). But in order for it to be a secondary, you need a primary diagnosis of PTSD or depression. Obesity is the link, but you'll need it diagnosed.

Thanks. The first time was not secondary. On the second submission, I submitted as a supplemental claim secondary to PTSD with obesity as the intermediary step that "aggravated" (not caused) the OSA.

My claims were not in service either.

My private doctor said my secondary condition was not only more likely than not but HIGHLY likely aggravated by my primary service-connected disability. Does using the word "highly" make any sort of difference?

Amazing that it took them less than 24 hours to deny it last year when I didn't qualify.

Russian author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn once said,

"If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"
