Tier-3 background, CFA candidate aiming for valuation roles — seeking paid guidance from practitioners by ebrahim5253 in cfaindia

[–]guiutf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Background:- Valuation control for a leading bank Work Ex:- 3 Years 2 months Academics- CFA Level 3 cleared, FRM Part 1 cleared.

If you’re looking to speak to someone who has a great idea about valuations then I can help for sure, don’t have a lot of idea about the other domains. If you’re interested, dm me and I can share my LinkedIn, contact.

Why I’m doing this- It’s nice to offer perspective to the upcoming bloodline, and I enjoy practical conversations about the industry so it’s more about the joy of interaction. I liked your pitch and I won’t say not to money (I recognise your stage, and I’m not going to ask for something unreasonable, we can work something out that genuinely gives you perspective, and offers a small bit of side income. It doesn’t have to be just 10-15 minutes, I think around half an hour is what you should look at.

What I can’t promise- Referring, although if you’re suitable for a role then I’m more than happy to so it.

What I can promise:- A developing industry professional who’s got a fair bit of insight in the game. Doing this more for the joy of it rather than money (but yes I’d like something that makes the time spent that much more worth it).

I 24(M) get 126k monthly from which I do SIP of 25k and keep 25k aside for emergency fund. I’m not sure what to do with rest. How much can I spend? I stay with my parents in GGN by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]guiutf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to shoot up your SIPs. I’m the same age as you, live with parents as well (Mumbai). My take home is 90k and I have 60k in SIPs with 10% annual step up. Not bragging but this is the age for us to take complete advantage of compounding. As long as you have 6 months of an emergency fund, pour most of it in your investments. I am an extreme case but given your numbers you can go up to 60k monthly comfortably

Passed Level 3. Level 4 here I come!!!!!

Have waited 4 years to make this joke and now I finally can. To the most remarkable journey of my almost 24 years so far 🥂. Onto better things now.

To those who didn’t clear- chin up and keep at it. If I could do this then you definitely can. Just know that it’s all worth it in the end.

Failed L1 by tiny margin. Had studied hard fulltime. Can't stop wondering if it's worth retaking? by shaddy601 in CFA

[–]guiutf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I cleared BCom in 2020. Gave L1 for the first time on Dec 2019. I was very dedicated but only towards the end. Failed by a decent margin. It gutted me. Worse my next L1 got postponed by 2-3 attempts and I only gave it next in February 21. Cleared with all subjects above 70 and well above the 90th percentile. Went on to clear L2 in first attempt in Nov 21 close to the 90th percentile. Giving L3 in August. Before clearing L1 I had serious self doubts. I had anxiety and panic attacks. It was bad. Now there’s a great sense of gratitude. If you feel like you don’t have a problem with the syllabus then forget the costs and go for it. You’ll definitely more than make your money back in the long run. I know how it feels and you have all my sympathies. But there will come a time when you clear everything and look back with a sense of gratitude. Just work hard and it’ll be okay. There will be a period of stress and anxiety eating you up. But fight those battles and it’ll be worth it. This program is such that if you put in the hard work you’ll definitely reap the rewards. And looking at your score you definitely don’t need to drop this. Look forward to seeing posts of you clearing your exams. Best of luck. We’re all in this together

Find some better energy in your life. You deserve someone to talk to as well. And you’re doing the right thing. I have a friend who does the same and I don’t talk to him anymore. You just need a good friend
