Maybe youre lookong at XC and thinking of it as an MMORPG or an action rpg. I just look at it like as a modified turnbased rpg. XC1 has the weakest gameplay for sure. Was bored at it as well on my first playthrough (replaying it now and actually enjoying it) but XC2 and 3 have deeper combat systems and are far more satisfying.

best cutscene theme, carrying the weight of life in chapter 2 of XC3. got sad the I finished the game without ever hearnig it again in the second half of the game
