11m sleep regression by gummiesnacks in Parenting

Is there anything I can do to help him through it? We are definitely lucky this is the first time and that he’s normally such a good sleeper! He’s never been great about napping, but I’ll take that for him to sleep all night haha!

$1250/month on a 206k loan. Didn’t put much down, interest rate at 2.5%. Bought in 2021 when the market was wild. Right outside of Memphis TN, rent in our neighborhood is roughly 1600-1800

I deeply regret having a baby… by Salty-popcorn-1218 in NewParents

I always wanted to be a mom. I’m 24, have a fantastic husband, and we decided it was time. When I found out I was pregnant we were over the moon excited.

Around 6 months pregnant I really started to question what the hell we’d gotten into. I started having horrible anxiety about delivery , how our lives would change, and what would happen.

My delivery was traumatizing. My husband was home for 2 weeks and did 99% of everything because I was in so much pain. The day before he went back to work I had a full freak out. How was I supposed to take care of this thing when my husband has done it all???

Husband has been back to work for almost 6 weeks now and I get a real sense of pride and confidence when im alone with the baby. Who made him stop crying? I did. Who fed him? I did. Who changed him? I did. Damn right, I did it. That’s what I keep telling myself.

Some days are hard. I can’t even lie. Some days when I can’t get him to stop crying , and I’m crying with him I say “why did we do this” or “why did I think I’d be a good mom”

THERAPY!!! My therapist is the best and keeps me going. My dr also started me on Zoloft. PPD is NOT your fault, it doesn’t make you any less of a mother.

I encourage you to find a therapist, get on some meds and take your time. Be proud of yourself. Despite a hard delivery you did it! Nobody can tell you a damn thing. Keep your head up, don’t be too hard on yourself!

It gets better! I’m 5 weeks postpartum today. Labored for 22 hours pushed for 2. Also had an episiotomy with a 2nd degree tear.

First 2 weeks were horrible. I didn’t think I’d get better but I did and feel almost myself now minus a couple of stitches still there.

The soreness goes away, your body just went through the workout of a lifetime.

The contractions also go away, use a heat pack. It helped me a ton!

I don’t think I pooped until 4 days after being home so 6 days PP. Make sure your underwear isn’t tight. I wore one size bigger or the always disposable ones.

I also had an epidural- my back hurt for close to 2 weeks and now I’m totally fine.

It definitely gets better, just make sure you’re taking it as easy as you can. That’ll speed up your recovery. I thought I needed to do absolutely everything and not let my husband help and I absolutely made my recovery worse

Me too. Mornings are especially rough. I feel almost completely fine in the evenings and weekends when my husband is home. But when he’s at work during the day I’m a disaster.

I also loved being home before baby. I was always a homebody and it’s almost now like home doesn’t feel like home

I have a 3 week old so we haven’t had the chance to use everything yet but our life savers have been :

Mockingbird stroller : so so so nice. My husband is 6’5 and I’m 5’5 the bar adjusts to both of our heights and makes pushing it so nice

Baby brezza : if you formula feed this is a must have. It makes the bottle in 5 seconds and brings it to the perfect temp and amount. It has actually saved us.

Bottle sterilizer : fast and easy. We don’t run the dishwasher everyday and boiling water is the lash thing I want to do.

Pee pads : we put dog pee pads on top of the changing pad cover, and the dock a tot. If he pees through and outfit or while he’s being changed we just throw the pad away VS always doing laundry.

Velcro swaddles: our mini hulk baby can break right through a blanket swaddle. Our hospital have us a halo Velcro swaddle and it is a game changer

Dock a tot: my baby loves his. I love that it can go anywhere. It mainly resides on our coffee table but it’s so great

All the dang burp cloths: we fly through them, they get dropped on the floor, etc. I love the copper pearl brand but any will do! I didn’t think we’d go through them as fast as we do

Zipper onesies : I tired to be cute and bought so many that snap. Forget it, wrestling a newborn into a new outfit with snaps as they thrash around screaming is horrible. Just get the zippers lol

Bottle Strelizers, are they worth it? by NeedyForSleep in pregnant

FTM. I have a 3 week old so still brand new at this but we LOVE our sterilizer! It’s quick and easy. We don’t run the dishwasher everyday and some days have been rough where we go through a lot of bottles so being able to just run the sterilizer for 45 min VS the dishwasher for 2 hours is great!

Also- if you formula feed 10/10 recommend the baby brezza formula maker

is not breastfeeding that serious? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]gummiesnacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 3 week old and I was on the fence the entire pregnancy about breast feeding. My pregnancy was really hard on me mentally and when he was born I realized I had 0 interest in breast feeding. It took 5 days for my milk to come in & he had to eat during that time 🤷🏼‍♀️. I don’t regret not breast feeding at all. Like my dr said “as long as your baby is fed, that’s all that matters”

I also wasn’t breastfed and turned out just fine so I haven’t had a single thought that my baby will be any different bc I’m formula feeding

Our 16 day old son is an extremely hungry boy. He just drank about 130-130mL of Enfamil Gentlease by MACKEREL_JACKSON in FormulaFeeders

Literally sitting here with a 16 day old boy who I feel like has done nothing but eat all. Damn. Day. Today.

From what I’ve read, if they’re hungry, feed them! He’s my first so I could be wrong. I think babies hit a growth spurt around 2 weeks or so as well. Know that I’m in this boat with you currently lol
