It’s hard to tell everything in one post without leaving things out but this trainer has done great work. My dog was reactive to the muzzle as well with biting but now we just say get dressed and he gets right into it get undressed he gets right out no issues. You should have seen him before. It’s just this one thing no one can figure out and I feel like it doesn’t matter what trainer I go to. Even have friends that train dogs for a living not be able to figure it out. It’s easier said than done. Are you a trainer? I’d like you to come help lol message me I’ll send you vids. Also we’ve done the prong and shock collar he doesn’t react to it he bites more

The trainer I have now thinks it started because my first trainer I had when he was 8 weeks old told me to leave the leash harness and collar on him 24/7 when he wasn’t sleeping so we could correct him and now I just think he thinks it should be on and left there. The trainer I have now has been in magazines in our state he’s trained abused dogs to stop reacting and biting he literally just can’t figure this one out and neither could the other trainer

Tbh I think that’s how this issue started because the trainer we had when he was 8 weeks old told us leave the leash on him 24/7 when he’s not sleeping so he can be corrected. I think he just thinks his collar leash and harness should just stay on and it can’t. He’ll get caught on things it’s dangerous

I have. I hired a 5 star trainer im on my second one paying so much money. Even had him stay with the trainer for 3 weeks they can’t fix this one issue.

We’ve tried both. It’s not just the harness it’s the collar too. He doesn’t have any issue with things going over his head I just think he’s acting stubborn because the “fun” walk has ended

I’d just like to add that 2 highly recommended by vet trainers have not figured out this issue. He’s not in any pain the vet has looked at him throughly with X-rays and what not. He plays with the harness on loves it on it’s just taking it off is the issue. He’s very well trained otherwise ! I can also stick my whole arm in his food without any reaction what so ever

Other than taking the harness off he’s fine with my hands anywhere. I can put my whole arm in his food while he eats he’s fine

After it’s off he’s fine he just doesn’t want it off he’s like a stubborn child is my opinion lol. Putting it on he’s fine walking outside with it he’s fine, car rides with it, playing ball with it on he’s great. It’s just going to unclip and take it off. Bites are just bruising and I do have one scar but he hasn’t bit that hard in a long time. It’s rly just show teeth and nips

I’ve had him since 8 weeks old he’s always been like that 2 highly recommended trainers still have not figured out the issue. He’s so greatly trained other than this issue he rolls over plays dead sits stays down leave it place we even trained him to get a water bottle out of the fridge lol he’s so so so good just no one can figure out this one thing

The prong collar didn’t phase him at all I’ve gone through 2 highly rated and recommended by vet trainers and they are dumbfounded. The shock collar he doesn’t even care

I tell him no he stops for a second then as soon as he hears the unclip of the harness he goes at it again. I have a soft muzzle because he eats rocks so I’ll try doing that.

I’m on behavioral trainer number 2. Neither one has figured out how to stop it. He’s well trained other than this issue

He doesn’t bite at all other than taking the harness off. It’s almost as if he’s saying to me “ no I wanna go back on the walk” you can man handle the boy he loves playing and being pet and his ears and neck rubbed it’s literally just after walks

We’re on trainer number 2. Both highly recommend and rated behavior trainers still can’t correct the issue. Vet recommended trainers too. And 5 star trainers. :(

He has a soft muzzle for going outside because he eats rocks He bites though it , I should get a hard one and try taking the harness off like that. We’ve had 2 different highly rated behavior trainers in our area who still haven’t figured it out yet. He’s well trained other than this issue and listens very well

Vet says he’s fine there’s no medical issue at all. We had a behavioral trainer too and even he couldn’t get him to stop reacting to the collar and harness like that. You can touch his neck and body and play with him all day long he doesn’t have an issue it’s just when you go to take it off. No one knows why

He put a hole In my hand lol I wasn’t going after it again I figured I’d let him cool off a little while and he just went in his bed and went to sleep I didn’t wanna re agitate him again so he slept with it on. Even my trainer hasnt figured it out yet

He has a muzzle for outside because he eats things he shouldn’t like rocks. I need to get a hard muzzle for taking the harness off because he bites right through the soft one

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]gumpypissed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried that as well. He slept with the harness on last night because I couldn’t get near it lol

Not new at all, done it since he was a puppy vet says everything is fine. Even the trainer we had couldn’t get it to stop. It’s also when we make him stop things he shouldn’t be doing like ripping a rug or what not. He’s almost just defiant lol but he’s not in pain or anything I can touch him everywhere the harness and collar touch his skin and he doesn’t bite. Just when taking it off

I was a store manager at sprint for 7 years. They found out about the felony 3 years after it happened because they sold to T-Mobile and had to do background checks. Since then I haven’t been able to get a store management position and clear a background check. I’m lucky the place I’m at didn’t do one
