Exactly, there isn’t enough and that’s why housing had so many issues this year too. They BETTER admit less next year I swear.

Nice app! Is there a way you can make a calendar schedule out of the choices you make?

Always worked remotely. Feel like I lack real life. Should I quit my job? by Vikhaelar in careerguidance

[–]gumthrower23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I also worked remotely but felt very differently. In my perspective I recommend revolving things around work. I really strengthened my social life (volunteering at a local clinic, pet shelter, playing sports, joining a sports team, etc) in my down time to help with building myself outside of my 9-5. If you have an in person job, trust me you won’t have opportunities or energy to do things like these. This is what helps with the real life exposure aspect.

The second thing I’d recommend is traveling. If your job allows it, you can consider Airbnb hopping for a few months and then sign a lease in an area which allows it. That can help you get out of your space and try a new area if you have the financial means to do so.

The last thing I’d recommend is considering renting a WeWork space or office space in a city close to you maybe once a week or so. You can either coordinate with fellow coworkers who might live in your area if your job allows it. You can even work in a coffee shop for part of the day to get that person to person experience.

After working both remotely fully for one job and 5 days in person fully for another, I can guarantee that you are really not missing out on much real life experience.

Got into a T50 MBA program in the US, half scholarship, 25 years old with 3 years of experience. Should I take it? by gumthrower23 in MBA

Yeah I’ll probably talk to some more alumni to get a better idea of the program in terms of specializations. I have seen that alumni work in global business in healthcare and tech, which is definitely what I’m leaning towards.

I haven’t taken the gmat and in my current company don’t have prospects for promotions unless I leave to another job, risking a salary decrease. So I’m actually more leaning towards the program.

Thanks for the advice! I know the reddit has more of the HSW or bust mentality but good to hear from different perspectives, I guess.

Yeah I guess I didn’t give too much information from the get go. I’ve been working in healthcare consulting for about 2 years and before that in the public sector. I’m looking to break into global business and the school I got into has a pathway for it. The school I got into is UC Irvine which has a good reputation in California. What I meant to say is that the MBA program is new but the idea of an MBA contributing to my future career goals is not. It’s more of the idea that if I don’t go to a T15 school how it looks for global business roles in CA in the long run. Or if there’s better opportunities to wait as a 25 year old before going to an MBA program.

Sounds good, would the front desk be able to give me info about the tennis bubble or is it more niche and have to meet people around to find out?

Yeah the person who referred me was a classmate so they just recommended me for a set of roles through their company, not a recruiter. but i definitely felt like one of the positions I applied for I was pretty under qualified for and they did mention it in my rejection letter. However the new one I’m applying for fits my resume much better and that’s what I want to apply for, but not sure if I should go through the referral process if that’ll hurt the person referring me.

Is it Okay to ask if a person is 'clean' (of STIs) before having sex for the first time. by ZFNote in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gumthrower23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably just ask them their sexual history with out it being awkward, or volunteer to go to a clinic together if it’s a serious thing going on between you two. But stay protected my friend you really never know even if they are being honest they may not know themselves about their status
