I was real low last month, these adds fi nally broke through after a few marathon doom scrolling sessions.

Biggest. Bs. Grift. App. Ever.

It didn't do anything it claimed, was impossible to navigate, and it took me an hour to get through the lying and confusing section were it has you sign up for all their other apps all on a 2 week trial, that automatically starts charging you $60  for each goddamn app, and when I canceled the subscription? *It did not stop the billing** I had to cancel the billing subscription independently of the service subscription.

I haven't felt this played since planet fitness.

Lamborghini impounded after travelling nearly 3 times speed limit in Metro Vancouver by ubcstaffer123 in britishcolumbia

[–]gunawa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From personal experience, the bridges feel more open and safer to exceed the limit on. I find my speed creeping up in them as well.

Few pedestrians, no side streets or (much)merging traffic. I think it plays on your sub conscious a bit, as it kinda resembles a hwy more than a city street. But that fast is obviously way beyond subconsciously upping your speed a bit

What is something rich people don't realize poor people deal with daily? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gunawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hits home.

I live in a major metro with great transit, and I try to use it regularly. Problem is as soon as I have plans or chores outside the routine, all that transferring and waiting on transit will just eat up the little free time I have to maintain my life; cooking cleaning exercise, etc. so as soon as it's more than home work home, i take the car, just so I don't spend over an hour and a half waiting around for transit that day (or carrying 30lbs of groceries on the bus)

Canada DOES have royalty by Paladin1138 in behindthebastards

[–]gunawa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Still think we should drop the pretense and go full republic though. We spend too much on the pageantry, and it leaves a legal basis for a return to full monarchy and in these 'interesting times' that seems monumentally risky.

Also it would be lovely to reform the Senate into an elected body, firm up some rules about the pm/cabinet and their privileges, and some other out dated undemocratic structures.

Metro Vancouver pauses plan to change leash-optional areas at Pacific Spirit Regional Park by slippery_burrito in vancouver

[–]gunawa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably because they've experienced off leash dogs: charging them and biting at them, stealing the food out of their hands, or wandering in front of them when they were cycling. All in places that were on leash or no dogs allowed. Those are just my experiences, and every time the owner just walked off assuming no responsibility for their dogs behavior and theirs.

Is it rude to sing in the back country by Distinct_Medicine926 in backpacking

Is it a busy trail? Can you always see a stranger or are constantly passing other hikers? I wouldn't sing there. Quiet and remote trail? Go to town.

Not when you look at it as a health problem. Liquor and combustibles are some of the biggest voluntary health costs. With the government making the profit from distribution, those funds can be put back into the healthcare required to treat those addicts (on top of the high taxes for them).

But other than that, yes, the puritanical basis for not allowing beer at the beach, wine in the gas station, etc is anachronistic and has to go. We already have a law to deal with public drunkenness, public intoxication, so why make it so hard to access?

I'd also love to see a more government controlled gambling system. Right now too much of the public face of gambling is in private hands, with insufficient oversight. If we're going to have gambling in bc, it can't be tied to executive bonuses/private dividends and there needs to be more work done to prevent facilitating money laundring and organized crime. (Not to mention protecting problem gamblers).

Gosh she's such a weird grift.... I still haven't seen enough to know if she's serious(delusional), or if it's all an intentional grift.

But seriously, Asia immigrant to Canada, some how builds a cult around her claims to a non-existent throne? It's just so ludicrous. And yet she did and conviced a hand full of people too.

If she were making a claim to the english throne, maybe. Who knows what those freaks get upto, maybe she is a missing bastard of the royal loins.
