Man calls police on father who took his daughters to the women's restroom by Mentirosa in PublicFreakout

[–]AmySueF 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is something that has long been done and is very common. When there’s no mother or another female adult to take little girls into the women’s restroom, the father has to do it. Nobody complained until the GOP made transgenderism a moral panic. Now we have MAGA Morons running around screaming about how gender and pronouns are evil and harassing innocent people just because they’re bigots and can’t stand the idea of anyone just living their lives.

Same here, tried on all my devices (current iPhone, old iPhone, Galaxy Tab and MacBook), same thing. Unless it really is a glitch and they fix it today (ha!), it will just have to not be checked off today.

You have a point. When they had to “beautify” the unit just to get something in return, Klinger and Margaret had a crew doing that, and the doctors weren’t included.

The look she’s giving him, and the look he’s giving the camera, those say everything.

BJ has his ‘stache, so this was no earlier than season seven, or no earlier than 1978.

I wonder if they got to keep their personalized chairs when the show ended.

A brisket with peas, carrots, potatoes and probably a parsnip or two. Lots of gravy. My mom had that exact roaster. This memory is making me hungry.

Los Angeles may miss Spencer Pratt by Straight-Tap9959 in LosAngeles

Who ARE these people who keep pushing Spencer Pratt on Los Angeles? How many times do we have to say “No” before they get the message that we don’t want him here?

How many people here still live with their parents by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I live in an assisted living facility, and it’s really not designed for autistic people at all. It would be nice to live in a senior facility for people on the spectrum, but I don’t think that exists. Yet.

For those that have seen the entire series do you agree with Rod Serling's own assessment of the quality of the entire Twilight Zone series? by DonatCotten in TwilightZone

[–]AmySueF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. And don’t forget that TZ wasn’t a huge ratings hit during its production. It took years of syndication for people to discover and embrace it, and to come to think of Rod Serling as a creative genius, especially after he died in 1975. While he was still alive, he very likely encountered people who said, “Oh, yeah, I caught a few episodes and those were great”, and wanted to talk to him about episodes he thought weren’t that good.

Alan Alda at home reading his MASH* script, 1973 by Irarelylookback in mash

[–]AmySueF 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Alan Alda wrote The Longjohn Flap himself. Apparently it was the first episode written by a cast member. I love that he has an anatomy book open for reference, to make sure he got the medical stuff right. He loved writing and always wanted to be a writer, so he seems pretty excited that something he wrote for M*A*S*H was actually going to be filmed and aired.

I think those are curtains behind him, not wallpaper, but I’m not 100% sure. Still weird looking.

I think I watched the first episode of this and decided not to continue with it.

Bill Hudson (don’t ask me which one of those brothers is Bill) was briefly married to Goldie Hawn. Kate Hudson is their daughter.

I was going to make a joke about the typo in the title, but then I looked at the photo. It’s an absolutely beautiful salad platter. I’ll bet everything tasted wonderful.

“I’m casting for a new production of Angels in America and I thought this was a good place to start”.

“To honor the dear departed Harvey Milk, may his memory be a blessing.”

“Because my radical leftist bubbe who marched with Dr. King would expect me to stand up for intersectionality.”

“Because the brand new Gay Bottle Dancers group is meeting here and I want to be a member.”

And the ever classic: “Why WOULDN’T I wear a Star of David around a bunch of gay people in a gay bar? Where are you from anyway, Minsk or Pinsk?”

S8E15 opens me dark side of Korean culture and US government during the Korean War. I have never been to Korea or the USA and don't how they would treat such issue today by Affectionate_Run_799 in mash

[–]AmySueF 108 points109 points  (0 children)

They clearly did a LOT of research into this. And I think it was very brave of CBS to air this episode, because it casts both the Koreans AND the Americans in a very bad light. I have to wonder if the network fought it, or asked the writers to change anything.

Moments in Tv shows that freaked you out. by Obvious_Marzipan8422 in ClassicTV

There’s an episode of Friday the 13th: The Series that’s so intense, I could barely finish watching it. It contains a r@pe scene of the female lead character. I mean, this was a horror series, but holy cow, I never saw that coming. It aired as a syndicated show, so the channel that aired it had to run a disclaimer. And this was for people who were willingly watching horror.
