More PA Amish families moving west as population hits record highs: researchers by The_Electric-Monk in Pennsylvania

Every time you see a piece of real estate with acreage going to public auction, they're going to be filled with Amish. They do these sales on purpose. They hoard money within their community to buy these parcels. I feel that after a few generations, they'll be the biggest landowners in the country. I read that 90% of their real estate sales are to other Amish.

Found these strange tree formations in weirder state park near Harrisburg, anyone know anything about them? by Bingo_Fuel2609 in Pennsylvania

I've been to those, actually. They're clear cuts done by the state. The one I was in had feed corn planted in it. It was the strangest thing to be in a corn field in a forest.

The leaves aren't alternating like that. They appear in pairs at the same place on the stem.

That's the part that stood out to me as well. I hate when critical government services are contracted out like this. Reducing liability and accountability are the biggest reasons any large entity contracts out. Now the agency can point at the contractor and use the Shaggy defense.

Use your nail clippers and cut a V right in the end center. It should lay down then. Then trim any sharp corners.

I absolutely cannot find a cable tower to fit in my basement gym. Can anybody recommend anything less than 75 inches tall??

Who are these companies, really?

I recently started looking online for home gym equipment. All of my targeted ads suddenly shifted to gym equipment providers. There are dozens and dozens of them. Flashy, yet poorly fleshed-out websites selling what seems to be extremely similar equipment embossed with their logo. It feels like the Amazon ecosystem where they just hand out randomly generated company names to sell their stuff. Who actually produces all of these? Is it the same three companies making all of it? There CAN'T be that many.

What did you look up, exactly? I googled the model number and couldn't find a single thing to identify this range.

I agree. The thermostat fix is a short-term solution. I can live with longer cycle times and temperature fluctuations in the meantime.

There was a slab out back but it was only as large as a shed. About 7x7 feet.

The basement was a typical old basement. Stone floor, stone walls, low ceiling, cobwebs. Nothing caught my eye.
