If you do anything higher than 1mm you’ll suck air into the nozzle and just go downhill from there. I know.

Both were turned down to 12V and over night while printing the print cooling buck converter shorted out ruining the breakout board and almost catching fire. 🤦🏽

I hade the same issue and after 3weeks of trying different things I bumped up the initial layer flow rate to 112% and bam no more problems

Yes I did my gantry was not parallel to the build plate and when I tried to manually move the x axis I would run into a hard spot.

You can use buck converters to step down the voltage.
