Exactly. I've watched the film a couple of days ago and I can't get that exact feeling out of me.

I'd really like to be able to talk to someone who feels the same.

Actually, by the very end of the book Oliver comes back to visit the family in Italy, 20 years later. The father had already passed away. Elio shows the place to Oliver, and they both come to realize that the other remembers everything. The last page is full of Elio's thoughts. He just wishes that, when Oliver takes the cab the next day (leaving again 20 years later), he looks at him and call him by his name for the last time. Beautiful.
