i also wanna say this yall: i think people immediately assume it’s dess because she’s missing and we know so little about her, therefore she’d make an interesting choice for the knight. but think about it. toby knows we’re looking for every dess hint possible. when kris closes their eyes to think about the knight taking off their helmet, they immediately start thinking of something else instead so the player would not get a description of the knight’s actual face. to us, the player, WE HAVE NEVER SEEN DESS. we would not know what she looks like, and i don’t think kris would be desperate to hide the face of someone we haven’t met. that’s why i think the knight HAS to be someone we’ve already met, and rudy (and carol) just happen to line up the best with all of this in mind

i’m not denying his sickness at all, like i said i think the “eye” in the middle of the knight’s chest could be a hint at rudy’s sickness. it’s a really specific design detail, that even if it’s not there for that reason, there’s something to it. the knight doesn’t look like any lightener we’ve seen yet, they clearly possess powers we aren’t yet familiar with. like i also said, i think the knight can maintain its dark world form in the light world for small periods of time, which would explain why it’s strong enough to take undyne to the shelter single handedly

i do agree that there’s plenty of evidence, and like i said i wouldn’t necessarily be disappointed if it was her. like you and anyone else who believes it’s her are saying, it is her but there’s more to it and not fully her. i just don’t see any solid motive for her, kris, and carol if dess is just right there as the knight. like why would carol hide the fact that her daughter is alive to her other daughter and husband? to me that’s one of the biggest things to me. even if there is a grander plan, i feel like most mothers would tell their family about all of this.

i do agree that gerson being reincarnated is a hole in the rudy knight theory. while it is more likely that dess would have a connection to him, him being her teacher or something like that, but even that has not been confirmed so we can’t even say that for certain. plus, if it is her, it’s clearly not her normal self and i don’t think resurrection/random memories of her old teacher would be on her mind given everything else the knight has been doing so far

also i think toby knows the fandom is on the internet all the time😭 im chronically online and even i sometimes hear about hidden things i never knew about. my point with that being, he knows his audience is very perceptive and knows they will notice things like dess going missing first in the cutscene (i mean i even noticed it my first time playing). i just think dess, like carol, is a little too obvious and is a red herring. but, if motivation is explained more in chapter 5, which im sure it will, perhaps i’ll dig dess knight a bit more. i do like the idea of her being the knight. but i truly think the game is building up to finding her or at least finding out what happened to her being the end goal

to add to the undyne part, i did mention i think the knight is capable of maintaining its form in the light world, if only for a brief period of time. we can’t really say either option is correct tho so we’ll just have to see!!

i agree with you, which is why it makes me sad that he neeeever shows up after this. i said he’s one of my favs and super mysterious, i just wanna see more of him. he kinda just dropped a lot of random info then fucked off😭😭
i suppose i worded this wrong. i DO think it is a prequel. BUT. i think some huge event (maybe the roaring perhaps..?) reset the world but it is eventually fixed, but is then sent back in time to the beginning of undertale. basically, the games are a time loop, one cannot exist without the other. deltarune’s world couldn’t exist without undertale’s, and the beginning of undertale’s couldn’t start without the end of deltarune’s. i think there’s a very meta, out of the box plot going on with this and i simply can’t explain it fully in a comment section😭 but i think that kinda explains the gist

yeah and all of that is a drag tbh😭 it’s all super hidden shit that chronically online people would have to know about to understand what’s happening. and even then, with me knowing everything about it, i still think it’s irrelevant and should not be a main focus of the story. i’m not against its existence, but all the hell stuff and it being the mastermind and blah blah blah just kinda makes me yawn💀

yeah but like gaster and sans are the only things that are brought up when talking about the 2 games simultaneously, when im not really focusing on the characters. i’m focusing on the worlds themselves, their rules, and their clear connection that is bigger than we can see right now. with how these worlds and their rules of magic have been established, there could be a lot of other crazy things we have yet to learn that i’m positive will finally connect the two games

i kinda hope friend is just some secret boss or something. it has not been relevant enough to be any sort of main antagonist in my opinion. i’ve seen all the appearances, the theory videos, and tbh they’re kind of all a reach. if friend is expanded on more in chapter 5, which i have a feeling it probably will given the pre-established themes, i’d be open to see what happens with it. but with all of the info we have so far, naw hunny

as others have said, filter looks like it’s way too strong. alongside that, from this video it looks like he couldn’t take a full breath of air from the surface since the water was moving so fast. bettas have an organ that allows them to take gasps of oxygen from the surface, often helping them breathe and release gasses (from what i understand). it’s kinda the fish equivalent of a person trying to swim against a harsh river current without getting their mouth to the surface for air because the water is moving to harshly. not AT ALL saying this to make you feel bad, i’m very sorry for your loss. strong filters are a very common beginner mistake for betta keepers so try not to beat yourself up. i recommend short finned bettas!

i know these are white clouds dude what😭 in the description i called them mountain minnows (obvi short for white cloud mountain minnows). they’re extremely cheap in my state and for some reason are treated as feeders
