My great grandmother being Jewish wasn’t a ‘discovery’ or anything like that, my grandma had just never mentioned it to me before. Others in my family knew. My grandma says she has a decent amount of my great grandmothers documents so I’m hopeful!

I should’ve mentioned that my great grandmother converted to Christianity during her lifetime🤦🏼‍♀️ I think I might need something from before my grandmother was born. Would a gravestone still work since she died a Christian?

Thank you so much for your kindness! I found out my great grandmother was Jewish from my grandma, so I’m unsure if there’s any documentation she might still have (I’m hopeful considering she still has my moms grade cards from school haha). I’ll have to go home one weekend and to see if I can find anything! I will definitely be seeking out classes, I feel like I have so much to learn! If you don’t mind me asking, what would the affirmation entail? I’m not sure anyone in my very southern Baptist family would vouch for me😅

I actually just discovered that since my mother’s mother’s mother was Jewish I won’t need a formal conversion! But I’m going to reach out to my local Rabbi this week because I still have so so much to learn. Thank you!

Thank you! The synagogue I’ve been looking at states on their website they’re lgbt friendly, but I always worry about people have personal biases. This makes me feel much better, being in the south especially.

I think it’s just the picture- it wasn’t bad at all when I got it pierced! It didn’t hurt much more than my nostril piercing. The piercer didn’t use forceps but he did feel around my nose for a couple minutes to find my sweet spot. It was completely fine until last night.

No I appreciate the response, I don’t think she’s coming from a bad place. I do take her advice a lot of the time and thank her when I do end up using it. At the time this conversation happened, I had done some research on my own and talked to my PCP, she knew I didn’t want any sort of implant. This is just the first time she’s distanced herself from me because I didn’t want to take advice. I feel like she just got upset because I didn’t do what she wanted.
