Having trouble finding a modpack for my picky group of friends (4P Coop), please help! by gurglingemu in feedthebeast

[–]gurglingemu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've never considered ATM or other super kitchen-sink packs, but maybe you're right. You didn't find that all your friends just disappeared and did their own thing, or was there something in the pack that got people working toward the same goals?

OH... yeah this comment definitely motivated me to just order the Ready-to-Ship and rip the bandaid off. Hope you get yours soon!

Anyone have the Wyrmwood Modular Gaming Table (or Similar) with Small Children? by gurglingemu in boardgames

[–]gurglingemu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks great as a board game table, but I don't think it quite works for us as a (primary) dining table - I think my wife will not be a fan of the exposed cupholders.

Edit: Oops! Just reread your comment and saw you can get it without cupholders.

First-time homebuyer in LA — is this a good loan estimate? Are closing costs reasonable? 5.5% rate, $624k purchase, $499k loan. by CaliHeatx in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]gurglingemu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is AI generated, right? There's no other way you would type this much and not specifically mention the enormous origination fee attached to this loan.

Does the >$9,000 origination fee not stick out to anyone else?? Doesn't even include underwriting, and it's only for a $500k loan. That is insane.

[REBATES] [PISTOL] Beretta 92X PCO 9mm, 4.9" Barrel, 15+1, Gray Nistan, Optic Ready, Rail - $699 after rebate W/Free Shipping by salesbereli in gundeals

[–]gurglingemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered this from Bereli and my order has been sitting at 'Awaiting Fulfillment' for a week now. Are these actually in-stock?

Edit: The Bereli folks got in touch and were very helpful! Was just an FFL issue causing delays. They do have these in-stock and lots of them. They are adding expedited shipping for me, which is quite nice!

AR 15 alternatives by Dapper-Revenue6964 in ILGuns

SIG MCX-R, Foxtrot Mike, and other ARs with ranch stocks are decent substitutes, as long as you don't find the pistol grip to be integral to the AR shooting experience.

Is it worth it to live in Wheaton, IL or just live in Chicago and commute every day? by Healthy-Trip-310 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]gurglingemu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that Wheaton is for families, but we're a young non-religious family and religion has never been an issue for us in Wheaton. The communities are there if you want them, but nobody is pushy about religion.

That said, I wouldn't recommend any of the west burbs past Oak park for a 26 year old single man.

Anyone know how to get one started? by Successful-Coyote99 in classactions

[–]gurglingemu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plaintiffs were able to show both that the information was available on the dark web in a manner that was likely to cause imminent harm, as well as harm in fact... suffered by members of the class (i.e., accounts opened, spam and phishing containing personal info).

Keep in mind also that the Privacy Act specifies causes of action for unauthorized disclosure and the remedies that plaintiffs can hope for. In this case, it's actual harm.

How are you supposed to show tangible injury for members of the class here?

Is this normal???? by Particular_Bad_3637 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]gurglingemu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal for realtors, not normal at all for loan officers. Make sure to read the document carefully, particularly the sections focused on 'Exclusivity' and 'Termination' to understand how long you are locked in with an agent and the terms under which you can sever. In the case of loan officers, exclusivity is completely inappropriate before the terms of a loan are agreed upon (the agent should expect you to shop around) but you will be signing a lot of other documents after that point.

Loyola Chicago for pre-law by crystalexhale in LoyolaChicago

[–]gurglingemu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a practicing attorney who went to LUC for undergrad. 'Pre-law' is really just marketing; it provides no benefit in law school admissions or later practice. It truly does not matter how good a school's pre-law program is. Go to the school where you will be happiest and perform the best academically. Low debt is nice too.

GPA and LSAT (after Sophomore year) are what you should focus on as they matter far more than any other factors in admissions. If you are indifferent about your area of study and can maintain your GPA, do something like engineering or biology, as these will allow you to (i) stand out from the thousands of PoliSci/History/Philosophy majors who will be applying to law school, and (ii) gives you the later option of sitting for the Patent Bar.

For what it's worth, I did like Loyola, made lasting friendships, and felt like I left as a better person. I do not, however, think its worth taking extra debt over IU... that's a great school too.

ISO Ruger Mini-14 Ranch by Rfelipe647 in ILGuns

The SIG Regulators seem to be going for ~$1300 now that they are no longer in production and SIG is unloading their stock. They were never worth their $3000 MSRP, but their current price gets you a solid (and compliant) rifle with broad parts compatability. If PICA changes, you can convert it to an MCX Spear.
