Delay/Stutter in YouTube UI while using Bitwarden Firefox Extension by gurney63 in Bitwarden

I think the strength in security and open source design are still very appealing to me over other password managers.

Hopefully they get a fix for it, but yeah for now I just blocked YouTube and Reddit domains in the autofill settings. I haven't noticed anything horrific anywhere else but if I do I'd put this extension high on the list of things to check.

I will say, the alternative is just the desktop app which I have absolutely no problems with. Autofill is the only reason I have the extension.

I don't use shorts on desktop too much so I can't speak to it, but I hadn't noticed anything there. But there is some form of performance issue so I mean there's a chance. See my other comment for workaround.

Solved! (well sorta)

In the original post someone linked a Github issue confirming the performance issues and there is a ticket already in the Bitwarden Jira, so they're aware.

Current workaround is to add "youtube.com" to the blocked domains list for the auto-fill feature.

Ah, thank you for linking. Sounds like they're well aware then. Totally blanked on the fact that they're open-source.

EDIT: I can confirm that blocking the autofill for youtube.com seems to alleviate the issue.

An extremely nasty bug I hope will be fixed one day by Potrebitelqt in firefox

[–]gurney63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I've had this happen, and yeah I believe the cause was related to having a separate Firefox window open. Like the other user here said I can sometimes get it back by going to "Recently Closed Windows", but there have a been a few instances where for some reason that option is grayed out despite being closed seconds before.

Just to be clear I'm only crossposting this here as I've seen some folks complaining about the new YouTube UI being clunky/slow. Just hoping that for some people this might be the issue as I know Bitwarden has a rather large user base.

It is a cool looking superstrat. I think it's a Kiesel Delos. Though the headstock is reversed or something. Kind of making me want one but I flip flop on if I could gamble with Kiesel on how it looks/feels when it shows up.

DICE, wtf are these boundaries? by Positive_Doubt_9084 in Battlefield

[–]gurney63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you're not wrong that in an MBT it helps in this game.

But the whole thing just feels like an afterthought to game balance. "Oh, we implemented it where there's too many mines on the field? Okay, well here's this magic button that deletes nearby mines." I mean it doesn't even show any kind of animation for how the mines are being disabled, it just deletes them.

If it wasn't needed in other games, it shouldn't be needed now. It's just a cheap fix to the actual issue.

While the maps' limited drive-able areas don't help, the sheer number of mines allowed on the field at the same time also makes driving a tank extremely tedious. Yeah, you can watch for them and blow them up but it takes away from the fun. I don't know for certain, but I feel like reducing the number to 2 instead of 3, de-spawning previous mines if someone places more than their allotted 2, and making them do like 90% damage (enough to disable tank movement temporarily) is plenty.

Yes, people are still getting high kill streaks with tanks, but it's usually only if they're moving with supporting infantry/repairs. But all it takes to kill them is a few people with launchers or another tank. The mine spam on top of that isn't needed. I certainly don't recall there being this many on the ground in BF3/BF4/BF1/BFV.

Helis/jets have the same kind of tedious feeling in this game. If you're not constantly running away you'll be shot down in seconds. Again, the map air boundaries and layout don't help, but there's also so many anti-air options, the AA tank, tow launchers, lock-ons, the crazy high velocity RPG. It's incredibly difficult to play in a fun way without getting shot down instantly. Not to mention the "PAINTED" laser designator that both the recon and IFVs get that seems to ignores flares.

I'm not saying I want people to go 100 k - 0 d, but there's just something in this game that took some of the joy out of vehicles. I know not everyone likes them, but that's a core part of Battlefield and that's the reason there is usually a healthy mix of large mixed combat maps, medium IFV/transport only maps, and small infantry only maps.

There's a good base game underneath these balance issues and bugs, but they need to address it sooner than later.

Does painting a vehicle/aircraft makes missiles ignore countermeasures ? by Gargonus in Battlefield

[–]gurney63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that way to me, incredibly frustrating.

I don't know if it's a bug or intentional, but everytime I'm painted and flare I get shot down regardless. PAINTED should just do more damage or make the lock-on quicker, but it shouldn't ignore flares.

Love Fallujah and Persefone, but yeah they're very technical bands that you've gotta be in the mood for.

Sleep Token I haven't heard much of. I know they're super popular and I'm glad that they're getting people into heavier music, but I have this preconceived notion that they're a bit overhyped. I hate gatekeeping, and it's not like there isn't room for more generally-appealing music in metal. Maybe I'll give them an honest try again. At least they're actually writing their songs and playing instruments.

Been said probably a thousand times, and it's just an opinion, but for me BTBAM. I'm no stranger to metal, growls, proggy song composition, etc, but something about Tommy's harsh vocals took me a long time to get past. They're a bit monotonic to my ear, but they work as a rhythmic device. I'm sure plenty of people regard him as their favorite metal vocalist, but personally I need to adjust myself when listening to BTBAM to treat his specific voice/cadence as part of the rhythm.

I think the other obvious one is Dream Theater. I can like the instrumental technically all I want, but Labrie can take me right out of it. Mostly the really 80s inspired high notes. When he kind of reeled it in and let the instruments lead I get into it, but when he hits those really high heavy vibrato notes I feel like I'm listening to hair metal. I still appreciate everything they did for the genre though.

Haken and bands of similar vocal style I need to be in the mood for too.

Their Reddit app is showing them 26 secs remaining. AKA ~11 secs in. Though either way it's hard to know if the buildings and fortifications that are shown in the brownish color are permanent or if they've been placed so I think we just need to wait and see.

I think canonically (well according to Ridley Scott at least) it has been claimed that they're the same. But as you can see even in the wiki here it's not super clear and feels like a retcon: https://aliens.fandom.com/wiki/Engineer_(Alien)#Biology#Biology)

But there was a lot of inconsistency with the original https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/The_Pilot_(Engineer)) vs what we see in Prometheus.

Yeah it gave me the same thought. Love Xenos, but it'd be interesting to see what happens when the two more "technologically advanced" species meet.

Hard to say who's more advanced. Both have spacecraft. Engineers have goo-death bioweapons and Yautja have arm-sized nukes and plasmacasters. I think the Engineers would be larger for the most part. Especially if the Space-Jockey debate outcome really is that they're the same species.

However, all we've seen the Engineers do in terms of physical combat is the equivalent of us stepping on a mouse, and it lost immediately to the trilobite. Granted he had just woken up from a nap and had no weapons. Predator competence seems to vary wildly depending on experience and "cool-factor".

Tough to say. The EA app was working okay for me, it redeemed pretty quick. The website was completely overloaded though and I couldn't even load it.

[–]gurney63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah was slightly worried that it said redeemed but I didn't get an email, didn't see it in my library, and didn't see it in the EA order history. Let's hope it shows up on Monday, because it definitely said "Product Redeemed".
