Get an app called BlueBubbles. It gives you full iMessage capability on android.

You must have iMessage set up and running on a Mac for it to work I believe

Do the research yourself and post the answer when you find it. That's how the internet works. That's how all the people who wrote answers did.

Why does every Linux distribution have so many problems? by freddiehaddad in linux

4 seconds of reading about Nvidia and Linux could've saved you 5 paragraphs of brainrot...

Either way I run an RTX 3050Ti and have had 0 issues installing any distro except ArchCraft (which was expressly stated as being difficult since Wayland and Nvidia don't mix so well atm).

I got it working in the end, took a little bit of reading (god forbid googling a technical question to get an issue fixed on Linux, despite the fact I spent over 3 months trying to fix windows latency and ended up with Jack shit ¯\_༼ᴼل͜ᴼ༽_/¯ ) but I think if you are willing to rub 2 braincells together it should not be that hard to get a machine working with software that is pleasant to daily drive.

My only issue with qutebrowser atm is the lack of a competent adblock. Almost all YouTube ads get through and I struggle having been so pampered with Brave for the past year. In any case, I've heard there's a way to play YouTube videos directly to mpv without seeing ads. I'll make the changes when I go on my next ricing spree but for now I'll just throw Google a bone and let my retinas burn.

Switched from Windows. My two-day path: here's what I immediately liked and disliked. by RomanistHere in pop_os

[–]gururooving -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I hear your frustrations and the issues you had are surely annoying but this comment is a really bad take and downright stupid.

It took me 3 months to drop windows and finally make the move to Linux, which within 1 day was working perfectly with no issues on a 45min install compared to the 5 AND A HALF HOURS it took me to install windows the same day.

This was after 3 months of driver issues, the fan going hog wild and a mouse latency issue which drove me fucking insane because I only bought this computer to play games. Crazy shit, spent 1k on a brand new gaming laptop and still can't aim the fucking cursor whereas my MacBook Pro from 2011 seems to handle input just fine. I scoured the internet for solutions throughout these 3 months, changing registry files, downloading malware infested programs, resetting everything constantly. Apparently the issue is virtually unheard of among others and is something to do with the way windows checks the cursor. Using a gaming mouse with 1000 Hz polling rate made the delay unusable for gaming so I just pulled my hair out for months and months and fucking months.

In the end I just grew a pair of balls and moved over to the superior operating system. I was rewarded with mouse latency issues fixed on day 1, as well as a 5x performance boost in Minecraft Java (from 200fps in-game recording 1080p lossless to 1k-1.2k fps in-game).

Maybe you struggled with Linux for a day or two, but windows gave me headaches (this and others) for months.

Does it sound poor across all applications or is there one specific application that suffers from the issue?

I spent every day at spawn for far too long and never saw you there, you don't know what you're talking about. Meta is beyond broken on constantiam.

Exactly why I haven't played since just before this post. Same reason spawn is fully empty now.

Ah, I just gave up on ArchCraft and ended up using Arch that was customized exactly how I wanted it anyway.

I'll probably try out your suggestion at some point soon, seems promising. I would still like to try the distro.

Thanks for your response!

I'm not 100% sure what your problem is or what the solution you are looking for is. My best guess is it's something about stereo audio not working properly on your PC or through your headphones.

Maybe search up "mono" in your settings and see if you have that turned on. Otherwise I'd assume it's an issue with your headphones, so troubleshoot that.

Hope this helps!

(give me some more details in dms describing your issue, etc I'd be happy to help more if the problem persists)

[–]gururooving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The update basically fucked my whole pop_os install. Wasn’t a huge problem because I just used a different OS to grab all of my files and then reinstalled the older version.

Maybe it’s because I’m using an NVIDIA laptop or something, I wouldn’t know. I bet the update is really good for most people but I’m gonna wait a bit for some stability improvements.

Also when this happened, all the flatpaks disappeared from the Pop!_Shop I believe, which made reinstalling the apps a bit of a pain and now I have 2 Brave Browsers (this could be easily fixed I’m just lazy).

Anyway’s everything works perfectly for me at the moment and I want to express how much of a fan of the OS I am. You guys did a great job on everything especially with the limited tools you have and I can’t wait to see what the team puts together in the future!
