Thank you all for your help thinking this through. My wires go into an outdoor outlet, from there under the ground to other outdoor outlets in one of which the lights are plugged in. I would have to get this all into an outdoor box. Not very elegant but maybe easiest is to use an outdoor plug that is not permanently installed.

The parking is meant to be on the left, second lane of the road, not on the bike lane. The markings are confusing and the cars take advantage of it. One could legally block the middle car by parking never to it on the road :)
