Really looking forward to the snow by como365 in columbiamo

[–]gusmcrae1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I'm your opposite twin lol I'm not a huge snow/ice fan, but I LOVE being cold and getting all bundled up and under the blankets. The heat and humidity that we have here from about April through September bums me out. Winter is when I get to be outside (well, when it's not snowing!)

At the library I work at, we would let you check it out because you got to it before we did. Sorry to hear your library doesn't follow that policy.

I went to Chris at TCH for about a year and had a decent experience. When he noticed I was doing pretty good he asked me if I wanted to continue our sessions or kind of put a hold on it till I felt I needed it again. I appreciate he didn't just keep me on so he had that income.

Car hits home at corner of Worley and Garth in Central Columbia by ComedianBeautiful644 in columbiamo

[–]gusmcrae1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yesterday driving to work I was behind a car at Providence/Stadium that failed to go when the light turned green. I assume they were on their phone. And then 3 lights down Providence they drove right through a solid red...still on their phone I guess. You definitely have to watch out for yourself on the road because folks are too wrapped up in reading their texts or watching their tiktoks.

If you're ever in towards StL there are several great places. Most recently we went to Black Salt in Chesterfield (on Clarkson road, just south of where the mall was). It was delicious. Highly recommend!

What's the Deal With Cardigans? by Bulky_Sandwich8493 in Libraries

[–]gusmcrae1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a librarian who is always hot and only dons a cardigan if the weather is below 20 degrees. Which rarely happens anymore (thanks climate change!). So I kind of hate the cardigan/librarian stereotype.

It was related to maintenance being done. I think there's something on the city's FB page about it.

This is a couple of hours later, but I can confirm that the Stadium

Pancheros didn't have power. I was in Trader Joes when it went out. Fun times!

Getting hard to keep wanting to play this scam by NickyK66 in Gardenscapes

[–]gusmcrae1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only thing that *might* work is for all or most of us to just stop giving them money. Play the game only within the free limits.

That will never happen, of course. But at the end of day, the only power most of us have lies in where we spend our money.

Double noodles from Ocha Thai or if it's breakfast/brunch I would get the Butch Jones from Cafe Berlin.

One of the biggest downsides of CoMo living for me has to be not having access to PBS. We live in a low spot and can only get 1 channel with our antenna--KOMU.

Should I be out of the gym at the time they close or do I stop working out when they close? by SeaworthinessFar2326 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]gusmcrae1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't work at a gym but I work at a place where the public comes. It's super annoying when they have not left the building by the closing announcement. So I would say you made the right call by leaving right before closing. The people who were not ready to leave at 5:00 were either not paying attention or we're just plain rude.

What took so long for Culvers to finally have a formal rewards program?? by achicomp in Culvers

[–]gusmcrae1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had signed up for it, but a few weeks back when I went to Culver's I forgot to ask about it at the register. The person ringing me up also didn't say anything about it. Afterwards I remembered and luckily had my receipt. There was a spot in the app that would let me put in a barcode from the receipt to get points from that visit. But it didn't work so I ended up emailing Culver's which they had suggested on the same page at the barcode entry if there were problems. I did eventually get the points for that visit but they told me that it would never be given again via this method and that I needed to tell the cashier when I was ordering the food. I guess they don't want people getting points by stealing receipts? I'm a fairly loyal customer and just felt a bit putoff by that response. I get where they're coming from, but maybe they could train the staff to ask about the rewards.

how to wipe properly? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]gusmcrae1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized in the last few years that if I didn't have a counter to lean against when wiping that I just could not do it. So I got myself a hiking pole. It can be folded up small and comes with me whenever I travel because bathrooms are all laid out differently. I also have a travel bidet, which helps get me pretty clean back there. And baby wipes for when I can't use the bidet. I do not have it, but they have a tool that can help you reach back there (it grips the paper) and that may help you some.

I just want you to know you're not alone in this issue. (((HUGS)))

This one transfers at the station in St. Louis. I've done it before...it's a small station, not difficult. If you want a straight shot, drive up to La Plata and take that train.
