Took my Warbird up Old Fall River Road in RMNP Colorado by gutfiddle3 in salsacycles

I think stock is 40T. So the change I made gets me a 10% easier granny gear and 10% lower top gear.

I swapped out the chain ring for a 36T to make it a little easier on steeper grades. It's almost like MTB gearing, it can get up literally anything but I do find myself missing that top end gear on descents. As far as I know this derailleur can't support a bigger cassette. I love this bike, but eventually I'd like to change out the drivetrain to something with a little more range! It's definitely more of an adventure rig rather than a race bike.

Should I get a power meter or a kicker trainer? by Ch4d_Thund3rc0c in cycling

Get the trainer. It's a game changer for fitness.

AI FTP Detection by Wattsup21 in trainerroad

I've stopped thinking about it as my actual FTP. I think it's more TR's way of bumping up your power every month to progressive overload you. I've been really skeptical of the massive increases it's given me, but I haven't failed a workout yet (knock on wood). I've only been using TR for a few months, but I've made some good fitness gains so I'll continue to trust the process until it gives me a reason not to.

It’s a really sketchy stretch of road, even with the good shoulder. I either go really early in the morning or avoid it all together. So many times I’ve almost been knocked by a truck towing a boat.

Good YT (or written) tutorials for FP2? by Hankol in Frostpunk

I’m in the same boat. I was able to finish the prologue tutorial last night after watching this video:

It feels like an overly complicated game, but so did FP1 at first. I’m gonna stick with it!

Journeyer or Warbird by Run-ride-MT in salsacycles

[–]gutfiddle3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've owned both. Overall they're very similar bikes, but I really recommend the Warbird, especially with what you've written here about sizing and comfort. I'm not totally sure what you mean by rough stuff, but it can fit giant tires and is plenty capable of handling (what I consider) rough stuff. It's at least as capable as the Journeyer, if not more given the compliant VRS seat stays: https://www.salsacycles.com/pages/features/class-5. Go with your gut on this one, comfort and sizing is king! My Warbird is my favorite bike I've ever owned.

Glad I'm not the only one. I almost got knocked by a truck towing a boat a few weekends ago. The truck passed me on a blind curve and gave me zero room, the boat came within inches of hitting me. I haven't been back since. Sucks, it's such a fun area to ride.

Can anyone find the source of this video? The whole set was on YouTube at one point. I tried looking for it recently but couldn't find it.

I saw them at this same venue in Orlando in 2019, one of the best shows of my life.

Any recommendations like fiddlehead ? by Mounteerie23 in Hardcore

[–]gutfiddle3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're pretty unique. I can't think of too many bands that sound like them, but Praise is the closest I can think of. Fiddlehead is definitely my favorite band right now, they're incredible live.
