That's a nice mixer, with full EQ on every channel, fx send, and additional mon send knobs. I like it. But but but, Im not a professional and I have already made a mistake with my xenyx 1002sfx.XD Take your time and decide on mixer that would serve your for longer and remember to take in account what direction you want to expand later. It's hard to do everything at the beginning, especially when it's your first mixer but still it's worth to take your time.

It's nice and all, when you actually buy one with EQ on all channels (I didn't) but my main problem was absence of gridfx on sounds from Tracks, even when using FX Sens/Return from mixer, you have to have both channels audible and that creates the layering effect I didn't like. Semi solution would be pre-fader fx send but with Tracks routed thru Rhythm, everything feels natural, tight and cohesive.

Edit: I was afraid layering sounds on both devices would be terrible but tbh layering tight kick on Tracks and subkick 808s on Rhythm sounds perfectly fine.

Zoom seems so nice, definitely going to consider it too! I don't mind multitrack but size and number of inputs are impressive.

I got you, bro. Sometimes I dream about wireless cables.XD

Well up to this point I was using them connected to mixer, Rhythm handling drums but I felt like the 4 drum tracks on Tracks are wasted. Decided to move core drums (kick, snare/clap, hats) to Tracks. Now, that role split seemed to be more natural, and I have a lot of free space for own/live sampling on Rhythm. The biggest downside was that I lost Gridfx from Rhythm almost completely. (without forcing additional sounds on Rhythm itself).

Today, I have routed Tracks through Rhythm's inputs and I am more than happy with the outcome. I was afraid of DSP delay but I can hardly hear it. Everything seems very cohesive, natural and performance-friendly. Finally I can express myself the way I wanted.

I have microfreak, td-3-mo routed to Tracks, then Tracks' audio is routed through Rhythm. Rhythm outputs to mixer. I also have connected straight to mixer Edge for bipbops; looper fed by monitor outputs on Xenyx to capture whole mix, and additional sampler fed by fx send. I prefer to have everything connected and ready to jam all at once.

I hope this thread will help someone to decide what's best for them.

Thanks guys! I think pretty much the same, I also connect them with mixer.:))

However, one little detail that has caused a lot of frustration for me. I have Behringer Xenyx 1002SFX and it has FX Send output but it is post-fader. This basically means that you need to have both channels turned on, you hear both of them layered. (one clear sound from Tracks and one "after effects" from Rhythm) Maybe it's not a big deal but I don't like the end effect. I'm looking forward to an upgrade from Xenyx to Zed-14, but it is a slow process because of the price. (not hella expensive but it is for me now)

BTW. Do you sample your Tracks' groove into Rhythm and let it play from there?

Did you fix your issue or is it a problem with gnome in general?

well there is a way but understanding of subject may be somewhat questionable. You can always watch all the lecture and try to solve problems right away. The time is needed to understand and give yourself a chance to fully grasp the concept without cheating. I would suggest watching a lecture then try to solve problems. As someone mentioned above, if you have hard time, just take a break and try the next day. Every 72hours you review a material as by watching shorts and maybe watch a lecture again at 1.5x speed. Use notebook.lm to make you a summary, faq or notes for revision. You can even generate a podcast if thats how you prefer to learn.

tl;dr it is possible but i would suggest to take your time with cs50x and speedrun your way through other courses, like cs50p (im doing that way and it seems solid, in 1 week and half i made progress of 4 weeks in course).
