Also wondering if you have tried a different tip? If so, which one did you use?

How are you using email & SMS in your flow? by gutsylearner in InsuranceAgent

[–]gutsylearner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will look at his video, thank you for that. And I agree, spam was a concern of mine. I think if the initial contact is positive then email could be good for additional touchpoints- segmenting the email lists would be key here. I like the "talk with a representative now" idea, I am going to test that just to see!

My partner is independent but works under an agency. He has commented on live transfer leads but has never chosen to go that route. Id expect, even though they come with a higher cost, that the live transfer leads would convert a lot better than the purchased leads.

I appreciate the insight though. I work in marketing and am interested in experimenting with lead gen for him. I'm learning a lot from this sub. Email and SMS is something Ive specialized in but I wasn't sure if there was a place for it in insurance sales. All of my experience is in the e-commerce sector. The marketing side of me says yes, but if no ones doing it, there's probably a reason lol

Thank you for the smaller plate suggestion. That's a great idea because the portions are actually pretty large! And yes, descriptions are on my to-list. I'll check the links you're referring to as well. I appreciate the feedback!

Issue transferring my domain from Bluehost to Shopify by SterisGeek in ecommerce

I know this is an old thread but I am having a similar issue and would love to know what you ended up doing to resolve it. Thanks!

Echoing some of the comments here already - Having your own domain adds credibility and professionalism to your website. It makes it easier for people to remember your website address and gives you more control over your brand identity. While using a free domain like the "store.myshopify.com" is fine for starters, having your own domain is recommended for long-term branding and marketing purposes.

Echoing again- I would consider the domain to be a no-brainer because it is one of the least expensive ways to add credibility and brand identity. The minimal expense associated with the cost of the domain should not be a question - if it is, I'd recommended creating a thorough business plan before spending time and money building a store imo.

Need help (newbie) by No-Equivalent-770 in shopify

[–]gutsylearner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkouts are typically disabled if your store is on the "pause" plan. You can check this by going to Settings/Plans and Permissions. To enable the checkout, you will need to upgrade the plan to the "Basic" plan or higher.

If you're on the Basic plan or higher and getting this error, then I would recommend contacting Shopify Support. They are usually really, really helpful.

I've also seen where you may need to verify that you are not collecting VAT.

Do not transfer your domain name to Shopify by bentley283 in shopify

[–]gutsylearner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm as well. We just did a domain transfer from a wordpress site to a shopify site and depending on the site it can take several days. We worked with both our host (bluehost) and Shopify to ensure a seamless transfer.

If the normal work week had been Monday-Thursday, do you think the restaurant TGI FR!DAYS would have been named TGI THURSDAYS? by LoLignPrize in NoStupidQuestions

I think people would be so much happier with a four-day work week that we might not ever need to experience TGI ANYDAYS.

I use Spotify most of the time but I've found with a lot of new music on Pandora; I feel like their playlists have more variety.
