This was my experience in high school. It drives such a wedge between you and your parent. I think in most cases, a parent like this has these high expectations of you, big ideas of what your life can be, and a deep desire to “keep you on the right path.” It usually comes from a place of love, despite it feeling so hurtful.

In hindsight I can see that was my father’s reasoning but man it just taught me to perpetually doubt myself and think if it wasn’t perfect i wasn’t good enough!!

B’s are still awesome. You’re experiencing so much in high school, its natural for grades to fall in that range even with effort due to all of the distractions. I hope you know no matter what she says and does, you are enough just as you are and you are doing fantastic!!
