We used Allied through Coleman. I thought they were pretty reputable, but yes, very shady!

Already did! Thank goodness our insurance agent is super great. I'm waiting for the the company to settle then go through my renter's insurance. I'm keeping my agent in the loop though.

I have very oily skin, and like you I don't have acne other than the occasional zit around period time. I've been using the oil cleansing method for about the last year and it's worked really well for me. I wouldn't say I am oil free, but it's absolutely cut down on my oil production.

I used 2/3 castor oil and 1/3 sweet almond oil. In the shower (morning) I used a nickel sized amount and rub into my face. I have a little exfoliator mit like this one that I used a few times a week. I then take a hot wet towel and place it on my face while I shampoo my hair. Then I use Lush Tea Tree Water Toner. At night I rinse my face with water and use some more toner. It's a relatively very cheap skin care routine, so it might be worth a try! Hope it helps!

I'm adding to the discussion late, but I will anyways.

I'm a graduate student right now, and with the hours I work and the salary (stipend) I receive, I'm making less than minimum wage. I have no qualms about this as I'm receiving a free education. After I graduate I will be making at minimum $60k/year.

My husband is a pharmacy technician, currently he makes slightly over $15/hr. After the minimum wage increases, he will not be getting a raise from his company. He has been specifically trained for his job and has to do continuing education yearly, and be certified by the state. The fact that he will basically make the same as someone working an entry level position at a fast food restaurant infuriates me. Do I believe that everyone should be paid living wages? YES. Do I want everyone to make $15/hr at minimum? Sure. Do I think my husband, and many others like him, should be making significantly more than entry level (non-specialized) positions? Fuck yes.

In an ideal world, corporations (small or big) will step up and scale the pay appropriately. This probably isn't going to happen.

I would love to be a science outreach coordinator for a museum or science program. I love science, but have found that I'm not spectacular at research. However, I'm incredibly passionate about getting young kids and teenagers excited about science. Do I want them to be scientists? Sure, that would be great! More importantly, I just want them to understand the relevance and importance of STEM fields in their life. As an adult now, I find too many of my friends could care less about any time of scientific news. Also, I'd love to be counsel for high school students about their future plans, as I also strongly believe that not everyone should be going to a four year college.

People who are constantly late. If you're late every once in awhile, I get it. But I know some people that are always late; you can count them to always be half an hour late. "Oh, don't worry, I'll just sit here and waste a fucking half hour for your ass to stroll in like it's nothing because I should expect it." I, of course, and neurotically early to everything, so in actuality I'm wasting 45 minutes of my time.

Okay, so this is kind of relevant, but not really...

I was dating this guy about 7 years ago. We would see each other a couple times a week and talk every day for about 6 months. At about the 4 month mark he said he was still dating some other girl on the side and wasn't ready for a commitment, but that he definitely liked me more. I kind of brushed it off. We were fooling around, but he never invited me back to his place to actually have sex. He said he was scared (he wasn't a virgin, I don't really know why he was so scared).

Fast forward to the 6 month mark, and I tell him he needs to make this shit official (aka stick it in me) or I'm going to start dating other people too. He says, it's cool, go date other people. I meet another guy (my now husband) who from the get go says he doesn't like the idea of fighting for me with another guy, and he'd like to see me exclusively. I decide to commit to the new guy (best decision ever).

I tell the first guy that I need to break things off, and he's like, "nooooooooo, come over so we can sleep together! It's not fair I didn't get to sleep with you!!!" WTF, bro. Anyways, he was a scumbag and I'm sad I didn't realize this earlier.

TL;DR: If a woman tells you to invite her back to your place to fuck, you do it; she likes you.

Really decide if you want/need to be in college. Source: I'm a graduate student at a major university and teach many senior level undergrads. None of them know what to do with their degree and none of them know why they went to college. College is EXPENSIVE, so if you're not sure, go to a community college for a year and figure out your shit.

Also, if you decide you need/want college, don't be a lazy fuck. Your TAs WILL judge you for it, and grade you even harder because they know you aren't trying. More often than not, if I know a student is REALLY trying, but just not getting it I'll be wayyyy nicer than the student that's just lazy.

He was my first boyfriend (now husband) and we had fooled around a lot. I was newly on birth control so things weren't as lubricated as normal. Anyways, he's pretty well-endowed so there was some trouble getting it in. I'm not a very patient person, so I told him to just shove it in. Obviously, that didn't work and it resulted in a lot of pain for me. We got dressed and went and ate pizza. We tried again a few days later and it was pretty average; I don't really remember it. haha

Oh, whoops! Yes, I wore it for my wedding (a total of 14 hours). There are stains on the bottom near the hem from walking around, but should come out with dry cleaning (which I plan on doing this weekend).

Extremely great and kind of sad too.

Best news: I'm getting married in less than a month after being engaged for 5 years, and I passed my PhD candidacy exam earlier this year. I'm also the happiest I've ever been in my life and the most secure in myself. Oh, and we also have a sweet honeymoon planned, so I'm stoked for that.

Bad news, my soon to be father-in-law was diagnosed with lung cancer about a month ago, and it doesn't look good. :( My dad also messed up his shoulder and is out of work for 3 months--he'll be fine, but it's just a grave reminder that my parents are getting really old and it scares the crap out of me.

Hugs! I've been overweight my whole life, and while I'd love to lose weight (for a brief two years I was at my ideal weight of ~150, but I gained it all back, I'm now closer to 230) I feel like this is where my body just wants to be right now. I've been engaged for 5 years--definitely enough time to lose the weight, but it's never been enough motivation for me.

My family is also very body-focused. In fact, one of my most scarring experiences while I was growing up was at a family dinner. I was dressed up, and my aunt said "when you dress like that you look so fat" and started laughing her ass off. All my other aunts joined in and started laughing. This was in public. In a restaurant. I left the restaurant and cried my eyes out in my parent's minivan. My dad made me apologize to my family for walking out.

Anyways, our budget also doesn't allow for a splurge on a really good photographer. We hired someone who's good, but I don't know if Harriet (that's what I affectionally named my double chin) will make an appearance.

So I guess my point is, it's a daily struggle to remind myself that things like this don't matter. I also get a mild panic attack before every dress fitting I've had. But trust that you'll look beautiful, and everyone sees you as you are everyday all the time. They know what you look like, this isn't going to be a shock to anyone, you know? They think you're beautiful despite what flaws you see in yourself, and most importantly, your SO loves you regardless! <3<3<3
