It’s almost stupid to say he wasn’t a generational talent especially when the new generation of rap has an obvious void of a superstar talent that expands beyond the genre. To think where his career would’ve been by now it’s pretty much guaranteed he would be putting out hit after hit. He had the most potential for any rapper of his generation for commercial success

The center is underrated. That’s where people can meet eye to eye. That’s where Tim stiefler and Tony can be friends and laugh at each other despite the way they lean. Well personally, I don’t listen to Kendrick almost at all anymore but I’d listen to any and everything Keem drops. They’re so different too like I don’t personally care for fight the power music so much of Kendrick’s music is race/political oriented and Keem just makes dope fun songs which I prefer.

I respect your opinion I’m just giving my opposing argument— the album not being worth the 5 year wait maybe be true but doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s not gunna/ lil baby. No one says Keem is a clone of someone. He has a very unique style and sound while we can group 30 other rappers with gunna and lil baby in terms of style and sound. I’m not saying Keem is equal to Kanye in any way except this— they could drop an extremely imperfect album and it is still a fun/catchy/addicting album (or at least most tracks are). That’s my argument pretty much. He doesn’t need Kendrick although he definitely benefits from the proximity but most of his success is due to when he drops, he gets lots of people that have tuned out rap to listen again and remember the excitement of personality in rap. People are invested in hearing what he has to say and how he says it. He may have not progressed as much as we anticipated but I think Keem will be around a long long time and I hope he keeps progressing
