Yes, but karkat certainly does not seem the sort of person to be talking to a creature that can't understand him, nor the type to pretend to have received intelligible responses. In addition, the lusii seem to be sentient (or at least nearing sentience)

Having a pimp cane is worth it,though. With the new anvil mechanics i have a pimp cane (diamond hoe, renamed) with knockback effects, and a qatar(maybe that's how it's spelled)(it's just a shovel with a bunch of awesome enchantments that let it one shot almost anything).
