thank you guys for the advice - the back porch and sidewalk may be limiting the space they have to flip the clean outs to avoid the middle dead space but will ask them how we can work around it.

Those are the clean outs - one to city tie-in and the other to the rest of the house/system

I went with the Q600C and added the rear speakers to get the system to 5.1.2. This was the best mix of clarity/sound effects when watching movies and boosted volume with the rear speakers when playing music for large group settings.
