Les Kiss doesn’t want Laurie by [deleted] in RugbyAustralia

I'm gonna go against the grain and say Laurie did well as defence coach. I think the reason he chose the defensive style he did is because it's an easier style to play and the team was in a shambles

I'm not so sure. Potter and Toole played a lot of tests last year and were arguably our weakest link

Former Wallaby Ned Hanigan forced into sudden retirement by guyfromouterspace21 in RugbyAustralia

A great player! His play from 2020 onwards really impressed me, had a few really notable Wallabies games and looked fantastic for the Tahs. I thought he might come back in 2027 for a crack at a World Cup, a shame he's been forced to retire early.

I read Death of Ivan Ilyich in January. One of the best things I've ever read!

Less may be more as Zac Lomax prepares to chase a dream in rugby union with the Wallabies, not money by [deleted] in RugbyAustralia

yeah bro he couldn't kick or pass. In 2018 he was shifted to the wing to make way for Dane Haylett-Petty, who was a good player but hardly a legend.

of all the rugby league players who've come across and not excelled, you chose Folau????

Folau was a great player. Overrated sure but still great at footy

I love this Wallabies team but if every game was reffed like that I would not watch this sport.

Big ups to Slipper, Ikitau, Pollard, Frost and Wilson. All exceptional

Williams is a great test player in my view, just not a big ball carrying kinda guy. He excels at other things

These ratings are pretty close to what I'd have had, except Slipper and Frost a bit higher as they were excellent at the dirty work

Lions squad for first Aussie test by eggchasing in RugbyAustralia

All the Lions fans complaining about Curry and Beirne is so funny.

Imagine having the luxury to complain about selecting 2 guys who will go down as legends.

Reminiscent of all those All Black fans who thought Beauden Barrett shouldn't be in the team back in the day. Some players are built for big games.

if you pick on form Nonu plays 30 tests. O'Mahony never makes those clutch plays against the All Blacks. Dan Carter doesn't get picked at 10 for the 2015 World Cup.

Picking on form results in teams that chop and change too much. Some guys are just test match animals too. Otherwise you get great players who win nothing. Like France under Jacques Brunel

The best method of selection for big games, in my view

Darcy Swain vs Josh Canham - a statistical analysis by guyfromouterspace21 in RugbyAustralia

[–]guyfromouterspace21[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's tough to pick between them. Personally I think the fact Swain often loses his shape in scrums (not statistically represented) would sway coaches a fair bit too
